re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.
You are right (classic F bucket = P, classic J bucket = U). I've found that on some occasions, even though there is classic availability, it doesn't necessarily mean there is also ASA availability in that bucket for that flight.

If you find classic availability but not ASA on the same route on the same day, I'd suggest to ring up and ask why. I haven't done this as I don't have the need to, but if you do - please report back!
Looking for a JASA or FASA SYD-LAX later this year, and thought cheap FASAs showed up in the P bucket on EF, with cheap JASAs in U.
Looks like I'm wrong and I'd dearly love to know which bucket I should be searching on?
Found P=1 in Oct SYD-LAX, however the FASA cost is something like 400,000,000  points (I exaggerate), yet it does show up as an F Classic Award, and, perhaps better still, a 72.5K F Aaward all the way over the RSW where I'm headed. I may take that if it's still there next month.
However, keen to find even a JASA as I may need the SCs to requalify as WP.
