Ok i see . So what I need to do is use the points book a QF flight down and then on the way back a jetstar flight In J for one pax that departs from the int terminal and then wife and kids can gain entry is that possible ?

...

The first class terminal lounge in T2 Melbourne. How do pax going mel - syd domestic get access ?

The only such pax who have access are Qantas Platinums flying on the Jetstar flights between Melbourne Terminal 2 and Sydney Terminal 1. There are no other Qantas or oneworld flights which operate between these terminals.

If you are any other oneworld Emerald, you will not have access to the F Lounge.

Your next flight must be the Jetstar flight to gain access. A same day flight is not counted for the purposes of evaluating entry to the F Lounge.

If you have a flight which leaves from Melbourne Terminal 1 (i.e. domestic Qantas & Jetstar), you will not have access to the F Lounge.

You could always book an international flight (e.g. Melbourne to Auckland). Then, if you have oneworld Emerald, you could then gain access to the F Lounge.

So only the QF PLAT can gain access to the F lounge in mel on a JQ flight mel - syd there is no other way. Unless I was a guest of a QF Platinum member .

Therefore that would mean if I caught a JQ flight leaving from the international terminal with my QC I miss out .

THe penny has finally dropped. Yes that is correct. QC would only get you access to the international J lounge. not the F lounge.

You know this has been explained several times to you?

Previously I was AA exp looking for access the the qantas lounge flying on JQ . This time I'm flying on QF as a OWE looking for access to the F lounge .

Did you want to meet me at the terminal :)

We all know the rules, but I imagine it will not stop Shanye2233 from trying (i.e. he could just slip by), including the ensuing shouting match if refused entry.

Shanye2233, please let me know when you fly, I'd love to see this

AA EXP and OWE have the same benefits on JQ, which is none.

And as we have pointed out there is no QF flights that will give you access. as a OWE you will get access to the J lounge domestically though.

If you're flying QF metal MEL/SYD it will be on a domestic flight QF400 & above as there are no QF international flights QF1-QF399 that operate MEL/SYD.

If you are flying domestically on QF MEL/SYD you can access the QF Domestic J Lounge with your AA OWE status but obviously you won't be able to access the FLounge as it is airside after customs.

If you are on JQi metal you would have to be QF Plat not AA EXP to gain access to the F Lounge in MEL otherwise you can of course access the J Lounge.

But what about if I was a CX Diamond Marco Polo member could I get access to the F lounge on a JQ ticket.

So coming to Melbourne for a few nights in late jan I haven't booked it yet. I'm departing on the 28th mel - syd and I would like to experience the first class lounge. I am either going to book four Y tickets or 3 Y and 1 J ticket. If I select the one leaving from the international terminal will I get access to the first class lounge in Melbourne !

There are a few options available for a OWE to access the MEL or SYD F lounge on a DOM flight. Why don't you come up to paradise on QF19 & really see the best of OZ:D

Shawshank Redemption's a great movie:

Andy Dufresne: How can you be so obtuse?
Warden Samuel Norton: What? What did you call me?
Andy Dufresne: Obtuse. Is it deliberate?

Sorry, wrong thread?

you need to actually fly.... on paid tickets... that is if you want to keep them. $10 JQ flights won't cut it I'm afraid.

Erm, no. Read above. Only QF status will get you into an Flounge on a JQ ticket as JQ is not OW.

Gee why not throw in BA GGL2+CCR, VS Gold and LH HON Circle.... :-|

I think that covers off all the best lounges in the world...
