Given the increase in green primary vote in the recent Victorian by-election, it seems they are on the ascendency.
Given the reduction of Greens representation in the left-leaning ACT from four to one in the recent general election, I'd suggest otherwise. By-elections tend not to reflect the general mood, especially if one side chooses not to contest.

Why is Abbott deemed homophobic because he doesn't want to legalise same sex marriage but Gillard is not?

No they are less relevant than previously.

there are 10% rat bags who will always vote greens. In the vote in Victoria, the libs didn't run a candidate and the labor vote dropped. Had to go somewhere.... The greens.

the exception, not the rule.

Unfortunately they have blown such a hole in the budget and stuck us all so deep in debt that i think everyone's shoulder will be required to the wheel... Even more so those that actually pay some net tax than those that scream about the pittance they pay, and then get even more back in welfare... Everyone loved the hand out phase, most never thinking about the longer pain of the pay back phase, or that someone would swoop in and pay their share back also...

So i can't think how the Libs will be able to come back with a magic formula to produce the money out of no where... Maybe rebuilding business confidence and a saner, more even balanced workplace relations environment will get some business making a few more investment decisions, employing a few more people that will bump up business tax receipts rather than the current mob who brought business confidence to lower than whale doo doo.... Cancel or delay some of the stupider, unfunded largesse until we have an ability to fund it, rather than just borrow some more and then some more after that...

But the leaches that think govt funding comes from an inexhaustible, reservoir could have a tough time adjusting to the real world....

I have no problem paying my fair share. I've paid over $350k pa personal tax each year for the past 3 years and I think that's a good effort & enough.

I just don't like the the class warfare that Julia peddles, don't get me wrong I don't come from a privileged background I've just done ok.

I'm a big supporter of the NDIS but not general welfare for able people.

It's not s crime to be successful but Moody et al seem to think so. At the end of the day there has to be some incentive to go to work.

Yowsers. That's a lot if tax. People who earn enough to pay that much tax are considered by Labor to be evil. May I ask what you do?

One thing I think that Abbot should do is have an income test on the child care rebate. Have no idea why Gillard hasn't. Makes no sense. Unless its a sacred women's business kind of thing.

Luckily we don't get to choose a figure based on what we think is enough, nor do we determine what is our "fair share".

Even if you think it's a "good effort" to pay that much that may not be the same view shared by others, who knows based on your income.

Thanks for declaring you've paid enough and it's a great effort ill certainly be sleeping easier tonight. ;)

You poor thing, I've never known a dentist who likes their job!!

I am quite sure Dentist's have the highest rates of suicide amongst professionals IIRC?

Must be quite depressing drilling all day!

I think i have put a couple of my Dentist's kids through uni, they do charge like a bit of a wounded bull...

And yes, many won't miss the divisive working class BS that she specialises in....

And the Libs don't specialise in working class BS? Howard's Battlers if anybody remembers? The start of our middle/upper class welfare because Howard/Costello had no bloody imagination when it came to infrastructure other then bribing the electorate!

Yeah, well Labor got on top of that when Kevin Rudd handed out stimulus packages for people to buy new TVs. Or have a roaring drunk when the cheque came in.

At least Howard left the economy in good shape. Gillard and Swan are plunging to new depths. When it comes to the bottom line, well, that's the bottom line right there.

Bwahahahaha!

You really don't have a clue do you.

The good news is that whilst your are sleeping in your Ralph Lauren bed, And I'm sleeping in our stuff from target at the end of the day you have one vote and so do I.

We also have one thing in common, we both wont be voting for Julia Gillard, the difference is I won't be voting for Tony.

In regards to class warfare, this poster who has proclaimed he has paid enough tax and has declared that I sound like someone who pays jack squat is sprouting class warfare from the highest peaks in the land!

Life in the Nouveau Riche fast lane must be tough when you have determined both you have done your fair share and I haven't.

Yes you've nailed it I was on the wrong end of a couple of bottles of wine.

I woke up and thought I must delete that lol...

The bed was one of Mrs Pukka's purchases it is comfy but jeees it was expensive, it wouldn't have been my choice

Note to self put the iPhone on the charger away from the wine bottle.

The trouble is, with Gillard, she's creating new bottom lines.

Thanks Pukka. Hope you use a credit card to pay all those taxes.

I was interested in this article from the SMH-
Time for ASADA to come clean

I have always thought that the government's announcement of the Drugs in Sport investigation was just a political ploy to take the heat of the Government's problems. It occurred just after the surprise resignations of a couple of ministers.I am even more sure of this now.The original announcement-
Australian Crime Commission | Probe Finds Widespread Use Of Drugs

So to me this government has sullied sports reputation, made us a laughing stock in the rest of the world and damaged our reputation in regards to drugs in sport.Even if it wasn't to divert attention it shows utter incompetence on the part of the two ministers in that they obviously had no idea what the report actually meant.
