Now the caterer is saying that the menu was a 'mock-up' and not used (quoted on ABC 7:30 program). I guess the leaker knew that, but for 'some reason' chose not to say so.

If so, I'll be waiting for the PM's apology for her slights on and accusations of Abbott. But I won't be holding my breath!!

You need a new dictionary. Implicit support is not the same as wanting it to happen. Reading helps if you don't put your own biased spin on the words.

Watching Labor descending into pit of madness is very disheartening. Somehow, it reminded me of the dying days of Ansett in September 2011. Some rusted-on Golden Wing members still flew with them wishing for the greatest miracle of a rescue from the leadership of SIA or AirNZ. While the otherside (Qantas) was already preparing to takeover the market share. Once a great institution now become an un-electable entity.

Seriously, whether Gillard stays or goes, her leadership is tainted and her days are numbered like Ansett. Whoever take over Labor leadership, would just see himself or herself under the control of the caucus. Furthermore, if KRudd returns, I suspect he will just get knived soon after the election. On the lighter note, is Gillard going to cry sexist and misogyny against Shorten/Rudd/Crean for kniving her in the back?

Coalition - like Qantas - only need to maintain BAU/Status Quo and watch ALP (Ansett) to fold all by itself.

Slipper's comments were in a private text between him and that scurrilous liar Ashby, which were leaked by co-conspirator Mal Brough in a smear campaign that was rightly thrown out of court. Were they pretty? No. Were they directed at someone in particular? No. Were they ever meant to be seen by anyone except the dishonest and scheming Ashby? No. So what is their relevance?

Peter Slipper solved a numbers problem for Julia Gillard, as well as rubbing Mal Brough's nose in it. (Mal was actively white-anting Slipper as he wanted his seat, but the party convention was to endorse sitting members). He has had issues with expenses whilst a coalition member, but at the time they were all resolved and Tony Abbott publicly backed him. There are now 3 trips to wineries that are the subject of investigation (again - all occuring pre Tony Abbott's endorsement and whilst he was a coalition member), and regardless of the outcome of that case he is a dead man walking as the leaked texts have done their work.

Nice one Mal! Good to see you defending women against evil scumbags like Slipper. What a hero for feminism!

Mal Brough had the numbers to defeat Peter Slipper in the preselection of 2010.Slipper was saved by the amalgamation of the Liberal and National parties.One clause in that agreement was that sitting members were not to be challenged for preselection.
Mal Brough had absolutely no need to white ant Slipper.Slipper had done that to himself convincingly.

As it now turns out that the menu was not produced by a member of the Liberal Party, was not used at the dinner, and was leaked as a followup to Julia Gillard's abortion comments, I suggest that there's a certain "pattern of behaviour" here, and it revolves around untruths and dirty tricks.

not only has the caterer said he and his son made up the menu but the chef at the place saw it on another staff members facebook page and then put it on twitter sending it to the ALP,Julia Gillard and Peter van Onselen.So the ALP have been aware of this for nearly 3 months and only now are they shocked.:shock::shock::shock::shock:
