No matter who gets elected businesses will be laying off in this period though to the end of the year as demand for goods and services has been tanking. Business conditions are very tight.

AAA ratings - bah!

Didn't think anyone with a pulse still believed this tripe.......you proved me wrong!

I think you are confusing the subprime mortgage ratings that were at the heart of the GFC, with sovereign credit ratings that measure investment risks for each nation. No ... I am being too kind here. You are confusing me with a brain-dead Murdoch sycophant. Sorry to disappoint you, but unless you are a vampire a solution is at hand ....

According Hockey low interest rates are a sign of poor economic times. But interest rates will always be lower under a coalition government. So the coalition will always give us a poor economy, Joe?

Those same small business owners would always think that Labor is the worst thing that happened to the country no matter what was going on. It's better than accepting their own failure to run a business properly.

So how many business's have you run then ?

At my exercise group they are mostly a retired bunch where grey power reins supreme. Lower interest rates really hurt them as they have money invested in banks and no mortgages. They certainly noticed that the National Disability proposal cuts out at 65.
This morning Leighton/Service Stream have pulled out of continuing to construct the NBN in South Australia and Western Australia so that unplanned mess up is getting pretty obvious.

IMHO - AAA - is a battery! All other meanings are as worthless as the paper they are written on.......

S & P rated Lehman Brothers AAA a month before their collapse so they certainly don't get it right all the time

Something to keep in mind about all the people commenting on how badly the country is being run, I suppose.

Just joshing - but is that you Wayne? :D I know that the ex-treasurer has a bit more time on his hands now, but I thought he would have been too busy listening to his Springstein records for this caper? Has anyone heard what he is up to now?

Compared to the Palmer party merc I saw in town yesterday driven by one of the candidates (new and swish until the signwriter got to it) its quite modest. I note its a dual cab and this FBT exempt.

Indeed. I'd also like to know how many Labor politicians have ever run a business.
