You make a lot of noise about them for someone without much of a problem.

You can pull it out later at 0%. What are you complaining about ?

Or are you arguing a better system would be to put it in at 0% then have it taxed at whatever the relevant marginal rate was on withdrawal as regular income ?

I'm saying you should be able to put it in at 15% like everyone else.

I think the interesting thing will be to see if Rudd commits to a full term if Labor loses. Just can't see him doing that somehow.

I really like Terese Rein.
The woman must be headed for sainthood.

It'd be interesting to watch Rudd squirm if an interviewer wanted to press the point, but he's not going to show up in Parliament House again. Not unless someone signs him in.

But you're not like everyone else. You're rich.

Why should the tax on superannuation contributions (which are, ultimately, just a part of your income) not be progressively taxed like regular income ?

A fairer way for superannuation contributions to be taxed is either with a 15% concession on your marginal rate, or on withdrawal as regular income at whatever rate applies then.

Massive tax discounts on super contributions are just another sop to the wealthy.

Well, for someone who has said they don't vote Labor you make a lot of noise about Abbott. And very little, if any noise, about Rudd.

For one brief moment Rudd got Labor's support up to a high - the same point it reached when Gillard led Labor into a fraught minority government. With three Independent seats bound for the Coalition, Rudd had to do better than that just to stay in the game.

He's gone downhill from there.

He's got five days left in the campaign, and the biggest lift he's managed to pull in a week has been three points - when he was fresh and full of optimism. He's now fired every shot he's got in the locker, and it's time for the bunker.

Isn't smithy pretty openly greener than the Canberra Raiders? Not voting Labor is technically correct - it's an indirect vote.

He's greener than Shrek and top left on the vote compass but I think he claims he's moderate.

The silence on Abbott's alleged plan to keep the tax on bank deposits is deafening.

Ah, are those the supposed "extreme" views I've advocated by you can never seem to actually reference ?

The political compass puts me slightly libertarian left. A bit closer to the centre than the Greens are here. Has done for the better part of a decade.

If I were picking a party to vote for it would be the Democrats.

He probably is keeping it you should be pleased its ALP policy he's doing what you want

A few post were dedicated to this topic yesterday......I'm assuming there will be quite a few policies that are left in place.

Cigs tax, PHI rebate, Welfare Cuts.......

I'm also willing to bet that the PPL doesn't get implemented in full.....the senate will block/adjust and the Libs/Nat will agree to the changes thereby means testing or reducing the limit. They will then blame ALP/greens for any reduction of payments.

Politics 101.

Well good for you so as we move into the last week will you at least agree that if the result pans out as expected the majority of the country want the coalition in power so TA has a right to govern and we should all support him for the good of the country.

Lol or are you going to be a bad loser as I expect

Except the deposit tax is not even legislated yet. So Abbott will implement alp policy.

As for pukka's ludcrious claim about my wants. A more important question is how can any of you seriously vote for Abbott when he is going to implement ( not just keep) a policy that you have all ranted against?

IMHO their best policy is the removal of the ALP and their union masters from ruining this country.

Of course not everyone will agree with this statement.......but I can live with 54%:D

We all have to share the tax burden. I'm actually very pro taxes that everyone pays, it doesn't seem like a ludicrous tax I'm sure it ticks Smithys progressive box as the more you have the more you pay.

So you don't support it then?

Because it will affect you?

Actually I did a google search when you first asked the question and there was nothing about this alleged plan. There's no conspiracy of silence medhead. Just nothing to report.
