I like the Age it's a nice big paper which is what you need when you have a big dog

The Australian is the only daily broadsheet left now. The Age and SMH are still weekend broadsheets and I am hoping they quickly go to compact size.

My cat only needs a compact sized newspaper. ;)

The Canberra Times is a broadsheet. Probably not for long - there's usually only a few pages of news and ads wrapped around a tabloid insert containing the regular features.

What time the results start coming through?

I might go & support the Wallabies then come back & watch the results about midnight

The difference is that I'm not making stuff up. When I talk about his capacity for revenge, I'm basing it on his history - it's not malicious speculation.
Yes, obviously, one person making pop psychology diagnosis about someone's motivations is much different to another person doing the same thing.

I would think you'd know the final tally (within 85%) by about 7pm......well before kick off anyway.

At midnight you might just catch Rudd in the second half of his 2 hour concession speech......I'm sure he's going to make us all pay!

The other psephologist worth listening to. I've known Malcolm for some years and he's a very canny fellow. Knows what he's talking about and is bold enough to put his predictions out there.

He advises Rudd to lose Griffith, Coalition to hold Indi, and Mr "One-point" Diaz to win his seat.

In the Senate, Greens and Labor to fall short of control, but Abbott will have to deal with three independents to pass (or repeal) legislation. Full interview here.

You mean like people making pop psychology diagnoses about TA.Seems a lot of that in this thread.

This "baby boomer" will be fully self funded and not receiving any of your tax payments thanks.
You're in a minority.

Indeed, even a large chunk of boomers more than capable of self-funding their own retirements, will be suckling off the Government teat with a part pension or at least a healthcare card.

BTW you do realise that it is our tax payments that put you through school don't you? And paid for all your doctors visits, helped fund your Uni education if you went, health payments to Doctors and Hospitals, paid baby bonuses if you had children and so on. Helped fund childcare etc et. Goodness, who looks selfish now?
Actually it was the generation(s) previous that did nearly all the heavy lifting. The boomers just cruised on their wave, then when they could started stacking the deck in their favour at the cost of the following generations.

The economic problems we have now lie squarely at the feet of the baby boomers. They made the bed, but they're going to do everything possible to make sure the rest of us are the ones that have to lie in it.

Thanks for posting. I recommend watching the video....fascinating interview with Malcolm very confident with his predictions.

What is this (unhealthy) fascination with Abbott and his daughters. Rudd's daughter was in the cooking show and not a comment. So who exactly has the obsession here.

That's true. But Rudds daughter featured prominently last night and nary a comment.

Was Rudd telling everyone that his daughter is a good sort? It's a healthy fascination with Abbott pimping out his daughters. What sort of man even notices that his daughters are a "good sort". That's really, really creepy. You might like to ignore the point, but Tony is the issue not his daughters.

Fair shake of the sauce bottle. This thread is riddled with unsubstantiated claims/thoughts on people from all political parties. Skyring has made very many insightful posts backed up with linked articles and the like.

Given he's an independent inclined voter.......he's less biased than many others posting here.

FWIW you've been pretty good at avoiding the rubbish and sticking to the point.......not many have achieved that!

Well, I'm not a man and don't have daughters. But surely a father would look at his daughters and think they look pretty nice with no thoughts of any nasty inferences being drawn.

I think people are attributing their own issues onto Tony.

.

I got totally blasted from saying that a few light years ago.

That quick!!!! I thought the polling stations only closed at 6pm.

I remember when they didn't release much until WA had voted. But I think when Keating was booted out the result was known before their polls had even closed. It depends on the swing or otherwise.
