So, who are the haters? This thread is getting a bit confusing, even for the Playground.
.... including the very unfortunate deterioration and name calling on AFF amongst comrades in travel. Unnecessary ...
I must say that I’m a bit mystified why some members are now ‘haters’. No idea what brought that on. And I do realise that this is the Playground thread.

Phew. I thought it was just me sniffing too much brandy vapour while making Christmas brandy butter!

No I think someone has been drinking some "fine English sparkling wine".

Me too! I went looking for the haters and couldn't see any unless the mod team have been through and deleted all the hater posts!

Brexit, US, Aust., UK elections. We are trying, but some don’t accept it.

How many victories do you need before you start displaying a modicum of winner’s grace and stop playing the victim at the first hint of disagreement and using ultra-lame insults like ‘St. Greta’ and ‘St. Gough of the Whitless’?

A majority that just can’t tolerate the opinions of the minority. Gee, that bodes well.

We all remember when Rudd won the 2007 election and David Marr advocated for the dismissal and silencing of conservative commentators like Andrew Bolt and Alan Jones because the left has no tolerance for dissent - just look at the way lunatic leftists abuse the courts and "anti-discrimination" tribunals to vilify anyone they don't like, or how Australia's best rugby player isn't allowed to play for having the wrong skin colour and religious beliefs.

As for the topic thread, this entire issue is a storm in a teacup. The usual band of whiners need simply be reminded of this pearler from Paula Matthewson:

The prime minister's presence at the bushfires is causing a security headache, taking him away from his work and looking increasingly self-indulgent. It's time he dropped the hose

The PM's holiday was described this morning on the local ABC as a 'national crisis'. That mob really should get out more. Meanwhile, speaking of Greta, and the habit of taking of holidays at this time of year:

The Australian reached out to Ms Thunberg last week for her thoughts on the role Australia needed to play on the global stage to help tackle climate change.

However, a spokesman for the teenager said she would not be able to comment on the issue “for the foreseeable future” as she was resting over the holidays.

Don't stress y'all ... just a bit of fun 😄

Interesting that most of the fires in NSW are in National Parks

Fires depend on 3 things - oxygen, fuel, and ignition

Bob Carr, yes Bob , you locked up lots of forests in National Parks.....

It’s interesting. Out State Premier is taking the perceived error of Sco Mo being absent, by being the one holding the press conferences about the SA Fires. It does actually make for a good leadership action. Yes, we have had fires here in the last couple of days and two lives lost and several in hospital with severe burns. Many properties lost. Do the Eastern States even hear about this?

I would prefer politicians stay away from any and all operational matters.
They are good at doing that when it suits them, so its a bit hypocritical when it suits them to stick their nose in.

And to keep out of of plenty of other stuff, as well. But it won’t happen, sadly.

Spot on.Not only did Bob Carr double the number of National Parks but he did not increase National Park staff and ratified the closing off of fire trails.

The current NSW Government is not without blame-the number of NP rangers has fallen on their watch. As well they have a pathetic target of hazard reduction burns-135,000 hectares per year when there are 7 million hectares of National Parks. This is way below the recommendations of every Royal commission held after a serious fire.

Agree. And the Libs/Notionals have been back for long enough to have fixed all of that some time ago.
