Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Plus if you’re flying QF you’ll need one pre departing Australia (within 72 hours)

Has any one had any experience with Qatar and leaving Australia? My destination is Netherlands and they don't require a PCR test for entry if you are fully vaccinated and can show proof. Will I need a PCR test leaving Australia to satisfy QR?

Did anyone pick up from Gutweins presser about Tassie and International? Can fully vaxxed Internationals transfer through MEL and land in Tassie with no quarantine?

This might provide some insight for you :)

SQ inventory has now been released into MEL for November onwards.

I had expert flyer alerts set up ages ago for half of December for SIN-MEL in both Y ( full economy) and M (saver awards for top tier) , and have my phone set up so I get some a chime alert when I receive an email from ExpertFlyer. I had plenty of chimes this evening, I think I had 18 alerts come through within 5 mins. :)

As a result have secured a seat in a few days before Xmas.

£12 Testing for All + £12 Testing for All (although I thought Portugal didn't require a test anymore if vaccinated) + £43 Randox = £67. Plus, prices are evolving a lot so may well be cheaper by then.

Australian vaccine certificate isn’t formally recognized, so testing is required.

Prices are a touch higher than that. I agree it should get cheaper, but still quite a turnoff

I just went to the Netherlands (from UK) and I had to do a PCR test before departure. You also need to be tested every day if you want to go to a bar/restaurant etc, unless you have a EU vaccination app.

My NHS QR code was accepted for entry into the country but that was it.

I secured a couple of return J seats to LHR for Xmas this afternoon.
The return flight was very clearly marked FEPO.
I’m hopeful that the negotiations with SIN are at a fairly advanced staged and we will be able to fully participate in the bubble with them and welcome all travellers from SIN without caps.

Different requirements for different countries... Australia and Qatar are on the 'safe' list for the Netherlands... no PCR test required. The USA and UK are on the 'red' list for the Netherlands... you must take a PCR test before travelling.

And the UK, Germany (I think) and Netherlands are now on Morocco's naughty list. The fun continues ;)

They were only enforcing the destination and transit points when I travelled, which was March this year, before vaccination certification was a thing. They called up the night before to consirm I had an exemption to fly, but I guess you are looking to fly after skies open. Their website has a pretty good checker. Just plug in your itinerary here.

Cheers skip

It will be similar (sort of but better) to our current state based challenges when we start flying to Europe.
Keeping track of various PCR/nonPCR/safe/not safe destinations.
Our first trip in May will be Italy only w SIN transit - good test run (no pun intended). Its so far ahead (in pandytime) I’ll read this comment in Early May and laugh ..I hope
….travel planning wise - start of last 7 days I’ve been getting around with a zimmer frame and by Friday its a Ferrari in 5th gear.
Strap yourselves in and soon we’ll be hearing the dulcet tones of ‘Would Madam you like a beverage before takeoff and a hot towel?’

Pre-take off beverage yes, hot towel... probably not for some time. Sanitising wipe? Yep, you bet.

Thank you. FYI Tassie fully open for International too (fully vaccinated).

Only ay 90% vaccination rate. At 80% it is entry but with quarantine.

Well it will be very pleasing to see the 380s making a staged return. I guess the boys will have to start dusting off some of those unloved manuals.

Definitely good news. To think it was only a few months ago you reckoned Qantas would never bring back the A380. I think you also bet QF international would never resume again, either. It's certainly been a massive few days.

Qantas claims on its website that the PCR test is an Australian government requirement, not QF's. I wonder if they haven't updated the travel *to* Australia requirements to reflect that we can now travel *from* Australia?

If what QF says is true, all carriers would require the same PCR test before boarding.

*edited to add* the latest 'flying update' email from QF says you only need to be vaccinated, no mention of the PCR test.
