That’s why I’m doing it at the airport as per above posts.
Indeed, but I thought it would be worth clarifying as per posts above where they didn't realise RAT was possible; they may therefore have then thought one purchased and done in isolation would be suitable (when it's not).

US ones must be supervised, though.
Who does the supervising? Picturing myself trying not to laugh, as I make long, serious eye contact with a QF F check-in agent, whilst twisting a 5 inch cotton tip up my nostril…

Same people who do the airport PCR tests - Histopath.

You’re paying for the paperwork.

Yes, as noted it needs to be someone who will issue a certificate.

There's a provider where you can buy your own test (assuming it's a supported one as per UK Government-approved Rapid Antigen Tests (lateral flow) - Fit to Fly Certificate) and then just pay them to supervise and issue the certificate.

I don’t even think you do the swabbing - pretty sure they do it.
No, it just needs to be witnessed. So doing it remote and they watch on video is fine.

You can get paid same day (not 90min) international test results at some of the suburban histopath sites too.

They’re pretty delayed as well. My “same day” arrived at about 4pm the day after. Test was done at 1pm (after lining up for ages). If I did it again, I’d get a travel agent friend to print up a PNR and go a day or two early.

Arrivals testing at Sydney Intl tonight was easy. In and out in 5 mins. No checking to see if you’re an arrival…. Rock up with a suitcase in tow.

Yes, for US that is fine, specifically mentions that remote witnessing is OK. Would save queuing that’s for sure

For travel to Singapore though, must be professionally administered, so that’s where Histopath comes in.

I was very much more concerned about testing positive pre-departure on the way out to the UK than coming home. I have tested negative and the points upgrade came through too so it‘s guaranteed to be a great flight.

If my budget and schedule permitted if I would travel overseas again very soon.

So what do people envision the RAT on arrival looking like?
Everyone gets tested at airport before exiting or passengers allowed a set time frame to go and do at their leisure. Obviously it needs to be supervised and documents to go with it?

South Australia is finally removing quarantine for vaccinated international arrivals from midnight, with a PCR test needed on arrival
Be an interesting test for son next week who flies from international but via Melbourne.

He can come straight here from MEL can’t he?
Yes he can but wondering given its a domestic flight if he will even be asked, given theyve removed the Enter SA stuff requirement.
