Worked perfectly well tonight on QF487. Seemed there was only a handful of pax eligbile to use the PB lane as I strolled past about 200 people lined up for the pleb line....

I don't usually show up in the early stages of boarding but I can say that today QF610 PB worked very well.

I know it's a QF thread but epic fail VA today gate 2 MEL to OOL VA 749 so it's not always QF

Worked an absolute treat yesterday. Was on QF454 which was scheduled to board at 1710. Usually I leave the lounge at T-10 to boarding to ensure I am at the front of the queue when boarding opens. Noticed on my way to the bar that the boarding time on FIDS in the lounge had been pushed back until 1729 and then an announcement was made that due to storm cells in SYD all flights were being held in MEL for approx. 20 mins. I planned to leave the lounge around 1720, but at 1715 the flight was announced as now boarding from Gate 7. I scurried to grab my bags and headed down to Gate 7 thinking that it would be an absolute cough fight on a pretty full AND delayed flight. Walking up the concourse I could see the line snaking around and I decided there was no point rushing. Imagine my surprise then as I approached the gate only to notice that the queue was emanating from the General Boarding queue and that not a single soul was in the Premium Boarding line! I headed straight down and was warmly greeted by the FA. Lounge to seat 23K took approximately 5 mins in total.

Not sure if the PB lane was being policed or there just weren't many status pax on the flight, but it was fantastic nevertheless and a perfect example of exactly how PB should work! Well done QF!

I sometimes don't bother and stand with the Plebs, then have chance to look at people boarding via PB lane. Still get onboard unless I am tired depressed and have lots of overhead luggage to stow!

14 March
QF752 from ADL - PB worked perfectly.
QF864 from SYD - the big PB sign was on the right and the small sign with one arrow to the premium line and one to the general line was in the middle of both queues. Problem was that the signs identified both lines as being PB - major fail!

QF510 9th April. SYD > BNE B737.
PB lined policed with people thrown out that were not entitled.
Very well done. General line was huge.
2 x gate agents.
Best experience ever.

QF537 9th April. BNE > SYD B737.
Got to gate late. General line still large. PB line empty and was served immediate.

OMG has QF started to get it right ?
Red Roo pls pass on perfect score card to both flights.

It was good on QF598 yesterday, too, although not quite perfect.

The PB line was empty as I approached, but two PAX peeled off from the rear of the (long) normal boarding line as I got closer. FA pointed out to them that they were in the wrong line, but she still scanned them through.

Still, it was pretty good overall.

mrpooky.

Just got on QF541 bne-syd (late boarding) and while queues were set up and priority boarding was announced over the PA, woman infront of me said when she got to the front "sorry I think I'm in the wrong queue" to which the QF staff member replied "no problems, we'll still look after you".

Also of note, as soon as boarding commenced, both lines were processed at the same time. Would be nice to actually give a couple mins head start for premium queue...

Priority boarding is certainly working for me a lot better lately! I think its great :)

Has any consensus been reached on the legitimacy of companions who on their own right are not allowed to use the PB lane - but are traveling with someone who is? ie. can a WP accompany someone through PB that is a NB?

My understanding is that the privilege is extended to the travelling companion(s).

My Mrs is a SG (but soon to be WP she keeps reminding me) ... and is fine in the line with me on all occasions where I am using my OWE/WP privileges.
Even when she was NB, still was all fine.

So I'd presume just bay saying the same words "we're together" whenever I have been challenged with anything seems to tick the boxes.
I use the same expression when I have a work cohort with me when I'm WP & they are not.

I've trailed numerous WP travel buddies through the priority line with no issues.

And this particularly annoys me when I'm in the priority line.

Surely the priority line should be boarded before processing commences on the regular line?
