Priority Privilege worth it?

Can I also stack this with the proirty club dining rewards benefit for spending over $40- receive a bonus 2013 points?

Short answer, NO, that bonus is for US residents only in US properties.

Thank you I might wait until during the week to join and use the benefits on my next visit . Does the bogo stay still give points for two night stay . And if I'm dining with family two adults and two children does that count as (4) guests or (2)

Under the program benefits, it's one person who eats free so long as two or more dine, if solo it's 25% off excluding breakfast, so two dining 50% off, a family of four is 25% off, excluding drinks. It is also not applicable during public holidays at many places such as Easter and Christmas.

Gee, you 'Southern Shire' people ... ( lucky no bushfires in Engadine / Heathcoate / Waterfall this Summer ... )

In my experience, better to claim the 50% off for two adults, and pay 'kids menu' price for the children ( age matters, of course ). The saving of one adult 'can' be more than the cost of two kids' meals.

Should have made your mind up BEFORE you left the rapidly browning forest hills of postcode 2233 !!

Thanks Rick hope you don't know my house number as well ! I'm going to leave it this time and join during the week .

I will take note about the kid menu they are 5 and 3 so shouldn't be a problem .

i am wondering is there any way to find out what is the pp rate (BOGO) for the hotel in mel around 3/5 to 6/5? is this BOGO can use in any type of room?

BOGO is based on best flex, and on those dates there appears to be good availability, however you are staying three nights so its really buy two get one free, so the Holiday Inn would be $436 in total for three nights base room, the IC averages to $193 a night.

hi markis,
thanks for head up. i assume pp 2 for 1 can apply to the king club in ic? and it will then allow to the club?

Yes, unlike ambassador there are no restrictions on dates you can use or types of rooms, however be advised the club in Melbourne is very ordinary, compared to the other three locations in Australia where we have ICs.

I think the dining benefits should be based on the number of adults only. It's expensive enough to travel with kids in tow. Why not look after this segment as well and encourage the extra cash flow it produces. I primarily travel for business so it doesn't come up, but when we travel as a family we usually prepare our own food due to cost. So they make nothing out of us from meals. But they could....

I stayed at one of the crowne plaza hotel and found the big sign stating "priority privilege card is not accepted during public holiday."
I have been a PP member for 5 years and used it for my family leisure purpose, I don't use it for my business trip, which most likely I use it on public holidays.
I felt that it may not worth renewing this membership.

Which Crowne Plaza and you ask them about it :?:

We had a dinner at CP in Canberra and totally forgot we had the PP card. Would that have given us 25% off (2A,1C)? Can you sit at one table and "elect" to pay full kids meal price to get the 50% off or is it at the discretion of the restaurant?

Also, for our couple of days in Perth (checkin 30-4, checkout 2-5), I noticed HI has 2 bedroom units available at a semi-respectable $405/nite (gov't rate). We're booked at Rendezvous in a twin queen for $212.50/nite so I was thinking the 2 bedder at HI would be far more comfortable and with one of my PP BOGOs would give it to me at a similar (perhaps even better) rate. The only crunch is when I rang to enquire, they tell me no BOGO availability for those dates. How do you guys see the availability on line?

Spoke to the restaurant manager, he said it is a decision for this crowne plaza only for the public holiday season. I took a photo of the sign, so I will email their duty manager to inquire.
I had a look at my PP, I've been a member since 2005. This is the first time to see the sign in 8 years.

Added:
sorry, I did not described the detail. It is Crowne Plaza Terrigal, Sea Salt restaurant is refusing PP discount. I tweeted with a photo mentioned @crowneplaza.
Anyway, we had breakfast there as I did not know that they are refusing PP on public holiday, but there are many of fancy restaurants. So we went somewhere else for dinner.
We had very nice seafood platter at the Cowrie, where has a massive view to Terrigal beach.
it is silly idea to reject PP as most of the members are regular customers brings family and friends.

In the past CP Canberra has not honoured the PP discount when dining on a public holiday. I did mention to the supervisor on a couple of occasions that it was a silly rule as there were very few people in the restaurant for dinner and we went elsewhere!
We have not had a public holiday stay there in over a year so this may have changed.

swanning_it - you would have got 33% off with three dining, but at Canberra a friend usually gets 50% off the bill for the two adults then pays for the kid's meal.

Thanks, we just threw away about $50. (It wasn't on a public holiday).

Another thing I'm not overly amused about with CP Canberra is the 4 x valet parking fees when we only stayed for 2 nights! I didn't notice this until yesterday at home when I was checking the bill so I'll call them tomorrow to discuss. Do CPs charge oddly for valet parking or is the rate per 24 hours, or is it per calandar day (ie a three pm checkin with a 3 pm checkout two days later = two valet charges or does two nights = 3 days usage????)

The hotels have the option to opt out during public holidays, school holidays etc.

You live and learn!

We have only ever been charged for parking per night and it hasn't mattered if we check in early and out late. I'd certainly phone them and have the extra charges reversed.
We only ever self park and it is now $18 whether you park underneath the hotel or in the parking area out the front:(.

We decided to go somewhere else for 3 dinners. It does not have to be the Sea Salt restaurant , ended up finding better restaurants than Crowne plaza has. I will not refer any friend to PP from now on.

AFAIK, valet parking at CP Canberra is per car, per night.

Those BOGOs are such good value though, especially when you are RA ;).
And when you get 50% off the total food bill for two people, it can be quite a reasonable night out.

I will certainly be re-joining when my year ends in July as I get such good value out of the program.
I must say though, it is challenging now that I want to maintain Hilton Diamond. We do a lot of hotel hopping from Hiltons to ICs.
