Priority Privilege worth it?

We had a dinner at CP in Canberra and totally forgot we had the PP card. Would that have given us 25% off (2A,1C)? Can you sit at one table and "elect" to pay full kids meal price to get the 50% off or is it at the discretion of the restaurant
There are two options. If you purchase a kids meal then they will only count the two adults. My daughter likes to eat well and doesn't even want to see the kids menu. I found if I order 2 x entrée, 2 x main it also works given that my wife never has an entrée and it servers as a main for my daughter. They actually count the number of mains as the number of people.

Handy hint.

I stayed at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley over Easter and their Red salt restaurant won't accept PP on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Hi All,

I am considering joining PP as I have an upcoming stay at the CP HV and am booking for large group of people - it will work out cheaper for everyone this way using the BOGOF certs even with the $299 joining fee

Just a quick question, my understanding is these will count for stay credits but not earn any PC points - is that correct? (when I do a dummy booking it says Points eligible for this stay: 0)

Will they then earn the quarter bonus points? Ie. stay xx earn xx points?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Both points and credits are paid on these, normally no issue at all. You should also get cash back, make a booking like normal through PP, but when you get to the results page, copy whats in your browser, launch mrrebates and when the normal IC page shows up, go through a normal booking to you get to the same results page, cut and past the older URL and then proceed normally.

If your stays are in May/June, you dont even need to use the certs,

Thanks markis10, that's excellent news, unfortunately it's at the beginning of July! D'oh!

I will also try mrrebates!

I stayed at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley over Easter and their Red salt restaurant won't accept PP on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Just stayed at CP Terrigal for the long weekend. This morning at redsalt restaurant after we had eaten they said they don't accept PP card on public holidays. I thought they were joking! What's the point of having the card if you can't use it when you are most likely to use it....on long weekends and during holidays.

I checked the T&C and it doesn't say specifically that public holidays are excluded on the dining benefit. Only mentions Christmas day and NYE and then "etc". Interestingly, is also mentions school holidays! Now, I don't have kids in school yet but that would mean that effectively a few months per year the card it not valid? That's just crazy.

And I would think for breakfast the card at least should be accepted all the time. I can understand if it's not valid for Christmas Day lunch and NYE dinner but why the hell would they exclude breakfast on a public holiday! And besides, I would then expect a sign outside the restaurant telling me it's not valid, so I can eat somewhere else. Has anyone sent a formal complaint to PP yet? ALthough, on second thought that lot is so useless when it comes to customer service it probably won't make a difference.

Is this worth it?

I tell you what, I'll be so kind as to sell you my largely unused investment for 25% of original purchase price! A real bragain.......not.

Honestly, if you use it, yes it is worth it. I honestly believe they make their money from mugs like me who buy but don't use. (BTW....I don't blame anyone for that. I just haven't found the time, energy, effort to use the value offered).

Can I just confirm with anyone who has used the 2 for 1 PP Certs at an Intercon lately (I am there in August) that they are getting both the points and the stays recognised by IHG Rewards?

thank you,

I got a call for this recently and listened to the spiel and was asked what my future travel plans were, I took great delight in sounding very sad and telling him that I had recently been retrenched and wouldn't be able to travel for 12 months after I got another job.

He realised that there was no change of a sale and I'm hoping my file has been marked to not bother calling for at least a year.

Another quick one I hope - I can't see if this is covered on the forum though it may be able to be inferred from the T's and C's.

The PP Card - can I use it to buy meals even if I am not staying currently at the hotel/property? i.e. on the way to work can i simply pop in at the Intercon in Sydney and buy breakfeast with 2 people use the card and get the discount even though I am not staying there?

I do it almost every Sunday morning, after working a night shift near the city ... ( not the IC, but HI a short walk from where I work ).

Local cafe's brekky for $10. = not much more than toast and coffee.
HI brekky with PP card: TWO persons for $21. = full buffet + plus the staff allow you to leave and come back later !!! Eg. outside for cig. or go and move the car. ( might be a 'hush hush' )

... but I think it's a great use of the ongoing PP benefit.

Okay..hopefully another straightforward one... I notice the additional countries like China referring off the PP site. Has anyone ever used the OZ card overseas outside the 4 countries listed below?

Yes, I have used it to get a discount in Thailand.

I rang the other day, to book a lunch for several people at Cafe Opera ( Sydney IC ) ...

I stated a PP card, and that I also wanted to use a 'Member for a Day' voucher.

The guy from Cafe Opera said, only one card / voucher per table.

Is this a new development ?

I've used both a CP Surfers ( Four Winds revolving restaurant ).

I don't see how. Its a feature of the product that more than one card can be used to maintain the higher discount level when there is a group of people. eg 4 people 25% 4 people 2 cards 50%.

No it's not, if you read the terms, point 1 of the dining benefits says:

Only one Priority Privilege card is accepted per group or table booking.
