@Ansett Was the $50 QF purchase a giftcard/voucher? Or has QF finally found a way to charge people for the trip from the gate to their seat?

I'm seeing the same result as Global Nomad -- I applied using the same referral link, and I'm seeing the 42,500 referral bonus points (in addition to the card activation 5K and Qantas spend bonus 2.5K.) I've hit my $3,000 spend so will wait (impatiently) to see if there's any adjustment before my first points sweep. There's no reason I shouldn't get the 82.5K deal -- this is my first/only Amex issued card -- so I will call if I don't get the full bonus. :-/

Mine's the same. I reckon they applied the new offer a few days early, as the new offer is exactly what you and I have been credited with (50K points)

Hey there, I called a few times and they were great, it's all been solved. I'd say there's no need to wait - call and explain the offer you signed up for and that it's your first AMEX. The person I spoke to had to put in a request with marketing. I called back a few days later and was told that the points were being manually credited. And they were, plus they've already swept into my Qantas account! Please let me know if I can help with more detail!

Happy to help! I checked my notes and I spoke to Danielle on March 1st (who escalated with Marketing), then called to follow up on Sat 5th and was told that the points would be applied manually, then I could see them in my online account by Monday. Hope it works out just as well for you!

Greenfish, I reckon you're right on the money. I have a screenshot of the offer I applied for, and will report on how I get on. Hopefully the same result as Global Nomad.

Despite applying with 82.5k via referral link, I've only received 52.5 as others have noted. WTF escalation sent to Shamex Marketing for the outstanding 30k. Not hopeful since I already hold a VA Amex (which seemingly invalidates the full 82.5k). No harm in trying though. Will report back.

I called Amex today and one of the questions asked was if this is my sole Amex card. I answered correctly and will hear back, I'm told, on Monday.

Please do, I'm in the same boat and also hold the VA Amex. I'm pretty happy with the 50k though as that was enough to get me over the line for a 280k J rtw

As promised, Gerard from American Express called back today. I *am* due the full 82,500 points; the mistake 42,500 points will be amended to 75,000. I do like the efficient way they dealt with this.

There may be harm in trying as they may remove all of the bonus points. How did you get on?

Not a bad strategy from Amex offering 80K points upon $3k spend during the month of Jan & Feb. Traditionally Jan is the lowest signup month for credit cards as Christmas & Holiday season is at it's end. So the more people that sign up for this card and spend $3k faster there're sure to to make a quick buck. I can confirm that DJs Amex is a special partnership with Amex as they fund ALL of the credit just has the Amex branding. So might cancel the DJs card and wait 3-4 months before signing up again and get bonus QF points for $99 a year. Then ditch this Amex gold card and hope they offer a generous sign up again at the start of the year.

ETA: as you were folks, found the answer in the Ts&Cs:

"Two Qantas Club Lounge Invitations will be sent to you within 6 to 8 weeks of your first Card spend in Australia on selected Qantas products and services on your Qantas American Express Premium Card each year."

From memory you applied/started spending well before me (I only applied a couple of days before offer ended) so I can forget about using them in the near future.
