New financial year, new amazing opportunities!

American Express is a company that keeps giving!

If you collect Qantas points and prefer to fly Qantas, these are the cards for you. The best deal for Qantas is the Qantas Ultimate Amex with 80000 points with free Qantas domestic flights thrown in. This is be best bang for the buck card if you are looking for Qantas points.

Otherwise you can look at the Qantas Premium Amex for bonus 50000 points with 2 free Qantas Club lounge passes every year.

Or if you don't want to pay annual fee, the Qantas Discovery Amex is for you, with bonus 15000 points with no annual fee.

Kamchatsky, the minimum spend for the Ultimate card in your table is wrong - as per post 73, it is actually $1,500 in 3 months.

Sad dog sees everyone else getting referral bonuses but not him.

Please help him out by using this link to sign up for this great AMEX deal.

For those looking for a referral link, would be grateful if you would us mine here

Hi All,

Does anyone know if I can refer my partner for this offer and receive the referral bonus? We're not married but share the same address.

Many thanks in advance.

Pierre

Of course you can, you can refer anyone! :)

It's a great deal in that regard, it means 220k points (80k + 80k + 60k) with 2x free domestic return flights for $900!!

If you manage to refer one extra person besides your partner, that's enough points for a Oneworld Award (basically round the world ticket) for two people Economy or 1 person in Business.

More than welcome to use my link if you don't already have the card.

Thanks Fairbasa - afraid I'm already a user of the card. Coming up for anniversary so don't want to pay the fee again without a new sign on bonus - so this works really nicely.

Of course, no worries. You could refer your partner and then yourself move over to the Citibank Signature (70k for $149) or the Westpac Altitude (50k for $0) then!

If anyone's wondering, supplementary (partner) cards don't count as "holding an amex card" last time I checked. As in, if you get a second card for your partner, they should still be able to get a sign on bonus if they later get a card for themself.

Here's my referral link for this fantastic card - it is a must in your wallet if you eat out often as it gives 3 points per dollar on all restaurant/cafe spend (particularly great if you pay the bill for the group and have everyone give you cash or transfer their share!) - Restaurants/Cafe's also generally have good Amex acceptance.

Also great for travelers as it's 3 points per dollar on QF spend and 2 points per dollar on all other airlines, cruise lines, accommodation, travel agencies plus all foreign spend (including online)! On top of this you get a free Qantas Domestic flight each year after your first QF spend - which means you can actually get great value out of the $450 annual fee!

With the 80000 extra Qantas points on offer when you apply by 31 May 2016 - it is unquestionably a great card to have if you like travelling and eating out, which I imagine is most people here!

The 80000 bonus points offer on this card is still available to those using a referral link (standard offer is 50000) and I just found out Amex is running a July referral points bonanza with extra points for the referees if people apply by 15 August 2016 - so a massive thanks in advance to anyone who uses my referral between now and then :)

Click here to apply. You can also use this link to apply for the Qantas Amex Premium card which comes with 50000 bonus points for you (standard offer is 30000), up to 2 QF points per $ spent and 2 QF Club passes a year for a smaller annual fee of $249pa (just scroll down and select the different card at the bottom of the left column).

Only 9 days left for the referral points bonanza - thanks again to anyone who uses my link here by 15 August :)

Once you click the link you can choose to go for the Ultimate Card with 80000 bonus points or the Premium Card with 50000 bonus points.

I cancelled an Amex Velocity Platinum around Feb this year and don't have any other Amex issued cards.

Are members who apply through a refferal link less than 12 months since cancelling getting the signup points?

Hi All,

Does anyone have any indication of how long referral points take to post after a successful application?

I haven't been lucky enough to get any in this promotion, but in past promotions, it was shortly after card was approved, as opposed to when activated. So typically a couple of days from approval, I found.

My experience is the same as excel's, shortly after the referred person activates their new card you receive the referral bonus.

I'm a bit gun shy -
Dont want to be approved, spend, not get sign on points, and then have to wait for another 12-18 months...
