Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

oh cough. no I didn't. Accidently swiped the window down and now I can't get it back :(
I didn't write down the code when it first came through and a couple of days later decided the time was right to book return flights to Japan. So no discount. There is a 4-digit code at the top of my digital FF card, but that was rejected. The promo email arrived today, I think 5 days after acceptance. As the code can only be used for return flights, I doubt very much that I will be able to use it now.

Got the e-mail for the $50 (annoyingly just after I had booked a flight) but when I go into the app home page there is no voucher just my next booking information ?? Any suggestions ?
It is not a voucher in your app. A week after accepting the offer you will receive an email with a discount code.

Edit. If it is as @Mattg said somewhere in the app, and that appeared earlier than the email with code, I will kick myself. I didn't even think about looking elsewhere.

Was anyone able to work out why some platinums got 15k bonus and others got 30k?
Yes, several replies up thread with explanations. It seems 15,000 points if you have not yet renewed status to 2024, and 30,000 points if you already have. The latter is because they have no need of the status extension, we presume.

Thanks Matt,

I have now accepted the points from the email.
You should now see this:

Thank you from Qantas

You’ve successfully accepted your Qantas Points. We hope this helps to inspire your future travel plans or request an upgrade on your next flight

If that's the case, the unredeemed frequent flyer revenue has increased by another $100 million since last year!
Off the top of my head - that would be either the smallest or 2nd smallest increase for nearly twenty years. In real terms = a fall.

Before having a look through the detailed financial statements - that suggests that the love affair with QFF points may be a little rocky. The cash flow statement may be revealing.

Arghhh - so according to this, I will not be getting an extension as I currently have WP until 31 March 2023. Looks like I will be scrambling for SC to retain if Japan does not open by January 2023 after all. Not feeling so forgiving now after all.
So as I said upthread, I panicked too early 😬

WP and PC with 350 SC and enough forward bookings to requal by my membership date of 31 March. But the last of these SC would only come from a business class trip to Japan in Jan/Feb, if it opens. Turns out I will get the status extension to 31 March 2024 regardless of what happens with Japan (for which I am very grateful). My ‘apology email’ also offered 15,000 FF points and a $50 voucher. If I make the requal under my own steam then I will have a very handy SC rollover for retaining WP to March 2025. As I have a lot of points to burn, I’m glad to retain status.

or didn’t get an extension at all…

So I cut n paste from the annual report

38% of FY19 passengers flown in FY22

Strong sustained domestic revenue intakes in 4Q22

— Group leisure at ~125% of pre-COVID levels

— Qantas Corporate at 95% of pre-COVID levels and SMEs1 at 100% of pre-COVID levels

38% of FY19 passengers flown in FY22 (which didn’t include me plus 3 family as I flew in July 2022 nearly exhausting the Covid credits

RRIA @Mattg on the money ...

You need to accept the offers by following the link in the e-mail, by a certain date - it looks like this in your 'Thank you from Qantas' mail:

Unsure how long from there until they are credited.
14 days
Your Qantas Points will be credited to your account within 14 days. Conditions apply.
Thanks Matt,

I have now accepted the points from the email.

Important information

To be eligible, targeted Qantas Frequent Flyer members must accept their Qantas Points by clicking on the link within their email between Monday 22 August 2022 and 11.59pm (AEST) Friday 30 September 2022. Qantas may withdraw or extend this offer at any time.

As the lowest of Bronzes -zero SCs for at least 10 years - today I got my email with the $50 off a return trip booking. Pointless email.

I received status extension , 30K and $50 voucher. My wife who has no status and hasn't flown in two years just got the $50 voucher.

yes, I got that confirmation

I am one of those members that will not need the extension as I will retain WP on forward bookings. However, I am not going to worry about only getting 15,000 while others get 30,000 as my frustrations with Qantas run much deeper than this and life is not fair.

But maybe Qantas should think about offering the additional 15,000 points reward to WP who retain WP on forward bookings before the membership year anniversary

Qantas also offered 500 SC rollover, but that was before the "thank you".

Qantas also offered 500 SC rollover, but that was before the "thank you".
Those having the appropriate status with expiries Jan-Jun 2023, got a new rollover, 15K points and expiries extended until Jan-Jun 2024.

As part of this, I see that Qantas is offering an "extension of previously announced commitment of up to 50 per cent more reward seat availability on Qantas International, trans-Tasman and popular domestic routes until 30 June 2023 being released progressively from 12 noon Monday."

That could be good news.
Well I still can't find any Business Class award flights to Europe in April or May 23.
