Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Righto, as lovely CSM Fiona collected my plate I mentioned how sad it was having no cheese. She said she thinks its return is imminent. 🤞🤞

Well, lo and behold she just rocked up with something that I think must have been her own. 🥲🥰

And the Peos cab sav continues to shine. A lovely lean, light textured style that’s not overtly fruity. I was surprised to see it at 14.5% ABV. Great with cheese. 🙂 (And a great thing to nurse mask-off on the 5h+ ride to PER. 😉😉😉😛)

I’ve driven past their vineyard many times during work and watched them transition into wine production from being potato and vege growers (which they still may do).

I asked Fiona to give my cake, choccy and Maggie Beer ice cream to a kid or kids down the back. Done. 👍

Almost happy days…😛😛

Notice how they don't trust you to hold the bottle yourself for a photo ;)

Things are showing tentative signs of normalising. 😲

QF945 BNE-PER right now. A pre-dinner drink (in a non-thimble glass 😜) and pretzel/almond pack (but as usual, mostly pretzels 😡). Peos Four Kings Cab Sav (Manjimup WA) - very respectable.

Meal choices: beef black bean thingy, barramundi thingy and some sort of salad.

But where’s the cheese? 😡 Some sort of sickly cake in a box and yet another one of those ghastly sickly sweet Lindt chocs . Pass…😡

Is it just that pretzels are so cheap that the almond/pretzel pack contains so many pretzels or am I missing something?
On my recent flight DRW-BNE , the FA noticed I was busily picking the almonds out of the pack - she commented that I wasn't the only pax doing it!

QF459 SYD-MEL 25MAY22 1530 dep

Leek & brie tart with mashed peas and caramelised onion relish, the other option was the prosciutto & corn salad
PXL_20220525_060037268.jpg

The quiche-like filling made the tart crust quite soggy, but it was a decent portion and quite tasty. Would order again over the prosciutto & corn salad.

The red was The Lane Shiraz 2020 and the white was Gaelic Cemetary Riesling (if I heard correctly)

Friend flying economy bought me the snack last night… chicken and leek pie, 140g. From the infpgredients list, the filling comprised 60% of the total, with chicken being 22% of that 60%. So roughly 18g of chicken - or just over a half ounce. About 18c… at retail prices.

Looking at the a J class pie above I maintain QFd business meals must average a budget of about $2.50. 😷😷

Saturday MEL > BNE

No PDB

Chicken salad, quinoa, roast carrot and pickle, quite nice. The other option was a turkey sandwich.

White Wine was a Chardonnay, forgot which, suited the meal fine had to ask for a top up as CSM tried remove glass 🤔

My neighbor was a popular retired tennis player who received a bit more attention though she obviously didn’t want it. I said hello but then kept out of her face as she seemed to want privacy.

BNE > CHC

PDB offered, duval leroy champagne, sparkling water, or both as my seat-mate requested 😆

Pepper beef (pictured, was ok some tender some dry, unfortunately come to expect that) or prawn salad, with a Shiraz, again I forget which, was ok, lamington sandwich in the box. Tops ups actively offered, but I had had enough after 2 flights and 2 lounges,

Limited catering this evening. Only one option of parmesan chicken on this evenings SYD-MEL.
I asked and the second option....??? To which there was no response

Not a fan of the chicken meat in that one but crew was willing to accommodate from Y plus snacks.

I'm not phased as its my work commute but if I upgraded myself wouldn't have been that pleased.

She probably was very unhappy with the football result the night before I'm sure that's what it was :D

I always take both! I didn't think I needed to be self conscious about my thirst levels :p

QF850 PER-DRW right now.

Pre departure: a small bottle of water. 👍🥳😛

Bar service. 😲 Two whites: ?Riesling and Haselgrove Chardonnay. One red - Grant Burge Shiraz. Pretzel/almond pack.

Meal choice: butter chicken & rice, braised beef with veg, salad of some sort (beetroot/chickpea? - stuffed if I can hear what excellent CSM Cecilia* is saying behind the mask).

(* Ruthless in redirecting whY interlopers to the back toilets. 👍👍).

Good - in a Uni residential college sort of way. 😜 I had been hoping for the lasagna as IMO that’s been the best of the latest offerings.

No cheese. 😡😡

Detestable Lindt sugar-bomb ‘chocolate’ 🤮 and some sickly cake that I asked Cecilia to take back to a kid in whY. She said they are not allowed to any more. 😲

What’s the world coming to? 😛

I'm sure I've been served that same slop in a box in whY.

Was the Grant Burge sparkling on offer too?

Do you ever work? And what is this “in whY” nonsense? 😱😜🤣

Not that I’m aware of. Cecilia took orders on a “Would you like drink?” basis rather than trundling out the cart.

I didn’t ask about spirits or the GB swill. I guess it’s a favourite for you? 😛😛🤣🤣
