Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Perfect thanks!

QF5 - SYD to PER yesterday evening
PDB was followed after takeoff with a canned Limoncello spritz (average) and warm roasted almonds

Chicken salad to start - tastier than I was expecting

Lamb ragu for the main. Decent enough after a bit of seasoning

Had a Cabernet to go with the main meal. Finished with a cheese plate. All in all pretty satisfying. Crew were really friendly and checked in a few times if I wanted a top up!

Breakfast on QF840 SYD-DRW today. Choices Granola, vegetable Quiche with vegetable ratatouille or fried eggs and bacon.
Mrsdrron had the quiche.

I had the eggs. Fried to a crisp.

Both served with an unappealing strawberry danish.
A couple of hours later some little bickies.

We had the same brekky offerings SYD-MEL on Friday @drron though no pastry or fruit but had yoghurt.

Think @mrs.dr.ron and I made the better choice.

QF1263 - BNE to MEL

Was on the hour delayed a220 down to Melbourne tonight. The a220s are quickly becoming my most likely to be delayed flights, particularly later in the day.

Options tonight were a chicken salad or Asian pork noodles. Pork noodles were all that were left by row two and I wouldn’t rush to get them if I had a choice.

Proactive service with plenty of top ups flowing. Only down side was they ran out of gin after only three pax had a gin and tonic.

I was recently underwhelmed by the J meals out of Singapore, on QF1 in April and QF2 in June. Everything on the menu was Asian, and was everything in the QF lounge. I get that Singapore is in Asia and I don't have an issue with them offering Asian food. But I thought they'd have an alternative. On QF1, I ended up with just a double serve of rice. On QF2, I wasn't offered anything. I went up to the snack bar where all they had was Toblerone. So that was my meal until we were served breakfast about 45 mins before we landed in Sydney.

Have they ever looked at doing something like SQ does with Book the Cook?

You weren't offered any meal? Or you missed the main meal service/ opted not to eat?

Yes, they had Meal Select. They removed it.

To be fair, the QF Select on Q or whatever it was called was not really like BTC imo. It was mire to preorder from the existing flight menu options. Iirc there may have been one or two "extra" meal options to irder but it wasn't like SQ's extensuve BTC iffering (out of SIN anyway. Ex-AU has been far far more limited in my experience) with say 40+ items to chose from.

QF has never had anything like that. Not that many other carriers do.

I wasn't offered a meal. Well, I was told by the flight attendant that she could see if there was anything available from another cabin. But her whole demeanour and tone told me that that was an inconvenience to her. I told her that I wasn't happy with what was offered, but that was the end of the discussion.

Do you mean you weren't happy with what the FA came back with? Or you weren't happy with the options on the menu in Business? Or both?
