Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I find Qantas premium food has really been degraded the last few years. Obvious cost cutting across cabins. And the reduction in cabin crew also results in some poor timing of meals, especially on long flights. This review on another website of the food is a great example of an inappropriately timed meal for the flight length and arrival time:

This line caught my eye: "However I found even with the dressing the salad to be quite plain and a bit bitter. I could see for some people this might be a polarising choice." 🤣

QF470 MEL-SYD. 5pm departure, options were poached chicken salad or the below lamb with potatoes and peas. No PDB but fairly quick service through the cabin. Lamb was a little tougher than expected but flavour was quite good.

CNS-BNE 09:10 flight. As noted by the (outstanding) CSM Amanda, two odd options for this flight time: beef brisket with mac and cheese; or Thai pork and rice.

Hadn’t planned on eating but this was a new meal to me so tried the brisket. It was tasty and reasonably tender. Mac and the corn were good, though I suspect this is a dish that could easily be dry.

Wonderful service and P1 recognition from Amanda from start to finish. Was offered a spare meal from the flight deck (lamb shanks) and gifted a bottle of wine upon descent.

I had this recently on SYD-ZQN, I think. It was very nice, IMO, though ~40% of the brisket was just a big chunk of gristle, which was disspointing. You'd think when catering for J meals (if not all cabin meals), you'd be leaving that stuff out of the servings!

Cheers,
Matt.

I'm still not sure what it is. I just know it looks very unappetising - and I'm being polite in describing it that way.
I suspect it is the 'French toast with bacon' which is kinda an odd combination if you ask me...the very average presentation did not help one bit either

BLR-SYD

Forgot to take a photo on the way over.

Prawn noodle salad was good, lamb not so good. Very heavy dish. Lamb was dry (which didn’t help). It was also initially described as the “veg paneer” when placed down which was quite the polar opposite.

Skipped breakfast.

Typical Qantas sadly. Exceptional crew on the way over, miserable on the way back.

QF75 SYD - YVR 27/07/2024

Pumpkin and ginger soup with chive crème fraiche
Beef fillet with wasabi butter
Panna cotta for dessert

The soup and beef fillet were both pretty tasty, the panna cotta was pretty average though.

Breakfast was the scrambled eggs and bacon. Again pretty average, served lukewarm at best.
