They look like poached eggs, rather than boiled (but if they were poached for too long, they become boiled eggs). Did they poach them in water or vinegar? (For the record, I don't eat poached eggs....EVER!!)

FYI, flights were not done on the same day :p
Thank God for that, would have been a very busy, long day if so!!

You're right, poached not boiled, fixed that.

Does anyone have examples of what a mid-morning "refreshment" meal looks like?

Here's the hot option from my MEL-SYD flight last Friday

It was a salami and cheese toastie. Other options were gravadlax or the cheese box.

(excuse the Grant Burge, it was a milestone flight for me :D )

Can you link to the thread? I can't recall seeing it and a search does not reveal anything fruitful unfortunately...

I't's actually a retro, English dish called Banoffee pie.

Banana, cream and caramel in a shortcrust pastry - what's not to love? :)

Red wine on all flights was S.C. Pannell Grenache Shiraz Touriga 2013, pretty good!

FYI, flights were not done on the same day :p

and the white??

and the white??

It was definitely Chardonnay but I can't remember the name now.
I did want to have white with the prawns curry as well (much more suitable then red) but the only one on offer was Shaw & Smith Sauv Blanc, good wine but not my style.

love Shaw and Smith, finished a bottle on my own flying solo on a SYD-MEL one night :)

They're always poached in water.
Thankfully for those who love them. Having tasted one of Mrs QF WP's in Fiji, I almost vomited as the vinegar was easily tasted - thought they would have transferred it back into hot water before serving

Looking forward to seeing quite a few meal reviews this weekend :D
