and just realised that I put this in the domestic business class meals when it was an international flight - hope I'm not outcast because of it :)

Pretty interchangeable so I reckon you will be fine! There is a Trans-Tasman in J thread where most of us post menus and meals. But certainly ex-Aus the meals are often the same as Dom J so it is all useful reference.

have some domestic and another TT to post so will try and get it right

Not a fan of steaks onboard flights, unless it's lamb or pork. For some reason, their timing never seems to give medium rare, always well done.

Qantas in particular just cannot cook and serve steak anyway but nuked on any flight we've taken. I agree and have given up trying to eat steak on flights. Never understood why this is not possible.

I know this is domestic but the best steak I or my wife ever had on a plane was on QF30 out of LHR to HKG.
Steak, over 5cm thick, was cooked to medium rare, very juicy and tender. Oh wrapped in bacon probably helped.:)

QF610 breakfast service- poached eggs with kale and cherry tomatoes. Not nice, eggs hard and the tart flavourless. kale and cherry tomatoes were ok

QF974 19/04 meal service. Pork dumplings with Szechuan sauce or a cheese box.
The Dumplings were outstanding, the Fowls Riesling matched perfectly

Yes, those dumplings are nice.
I didn't get a cheese box for my flight though a few weeks back.
My flight was ADL - MEL only though, much shorter than that BNE - TSV by Steady.

My seat mate had a cheese box and it looked pretty good- but I was very happy I went with the dumplings :)

24/04 QF829 DRW - SYD breakfast. Offered poached eggs or Bircher muesli. The eggs were soft poached but overall a disappointing experience
