Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF769 Melbourne to Perth on Friday 5 May. Was offered water pre-flight. After departure offered wine and some nuts. For meal service I skipped the Entree (options Moroccan spiced chickpea and tomato soup, or Buffalo bocconcini with prosciutto) and went with the Roast Chicken with fried polenta, braised bitter greens and salmoriglio) with bread and salad. For dessert we had Maggie Beer ice cream.

I know this was a while back (late December) but for J class lunch dessert (BNE > PER) they served 3 mini doughnut holes with a lemon curd coulis... OMG it was the best dessert ever. Has anyone seen it on board lately? Send me a pic so I can keep dreaming about it...

QF649 CNS-BNE 28/4/17 12:55pm departure

This was considered a "afternoon snack service"

No pre meal drink service (unlike dinner)
Took about 45 mins before trolley cart appeared.

Choices were : toasted sandwich with mushrooms / cheese (see this above); soup; chicken with beansalad

Opted for the chicken salad

Had similar experience with CNS-BNE on Anzac Day. 4pm departure. There was drink, but trolley cart didn't appear until 1h into flight. Dinner service consisted of chicken couscous or chicken noodle soup. They forgot I ordered a special meal. I liked the Koko Black chocolate, think it's healthier option and I can give it away as souvenir.

Passenger next to me was very upset with the slow service (ie. to get her drinks refilled)

not long till May 4 :D

Surprised the high elite load on an OOL flight unless big conference/conventions or something on. Not surprised at the Plat's though.

Still good service, and I agree the catering in J out of OOL has always been very good

Doesnt surprise me with the Commonwealth Games on next year, there will be increasing CL and PO patronage

BNE-SYD 1905 flight. They remembered my special meal! Some of of Asian style prawn curry with long beans and bamboo shoots. Could use more sauce but I was happy it wasn't fish (which tends to be dry on the plane). The cake is vegan chocolate orange cake.

Friday 5 May 21:45 flight from SYD to BNE

Supper was served, choice of cheese box, sweetcorn and basil soup, or pork wontons. I got the wontons - very tasty! The greens were really delicious too. Was hoping to get them on my return flight too but no such luck!

Sunday 7 May 18:35 flight from BNE to SYD

Options were chicken salad or a beef cheek with a potato cake, carrots, and beans in a mushroom sauce. Pretty tasty, the beef was nice and tender.

Soup or cheese toastie on QF750 today for 'lunch'. I can see where that AUD$1 billion profit is coming from. On the plus side, the Clare Riesling was lovely.

That Mort's Block is sensational!! And it's rather difficult to get (I've tried! Eventually got some).

The best wine I have had on QF in a *long* time (not counting F champ)

QF476 Perth to Melbourne (8 May 2017)

Small Plate options were:
- Creamy cauliflower soup with herbed croutons
- Seared tuna with sumac spiced freeman, coriander and pomegranate vinaigrette

The Main Plate options were:
- Big bowl of creamy cauliflower soup with spice roasted cauliflower and chives
- Roast Chieck salad with Italian slaw of cabbage, fennel, capers, Parmesan and red wine vinaigrette
- BBQ pork omelette
- Squid ink noodles with hot smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes, red chilli and sesame soy dressing

I selected the BBQ pork omelette which was excellent.

The dessert option was the Mini lemon polenta cake.

Domestic have never had the Marc Newson cutlery (only crockery) so the cutlery in that pic has been around for sometime.

Both international and domestic will get a complete refresh of crockery, cutlery and glassware. It will start with 787 services first then expand to the entire network.

oh god yes. If those tiny tea/coffee mugs can be replaced with something a) bigger and b) smarter and easier to handle (eg Air NZ's are great) this would be greatly appreciated. the current ones are terrible!

QF649 CNS-BNE 18/5 13:45 departure

Choices - toasted sandwich, roast chicken & Italian slaw salad, creamy cauliflower soup

Chose salad. A little underwhelming

CBR-MEL approx 1pm flight on QF Link 717. Called a refreshment. Only one option: chicken Caesar salad. Was ok but of course disappointing for a J flight at lunchtime. What I've come to expect on this route. Was a free upgrade to J so can't complain too much.

The above is a chicken waldorf salad actually. I had the same on a MEL-BNE lunch service recently, its a pretty poor lunch. VA is looking so much better at the moment. The removal of dessert for a piece of chocolate is just pathetic
