Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Well it is one of the better status run/indirect routes. North Queensland is a great place to visit especially at this time of year.
Ah, that explains it! Norther Queensland is a great place to visit any time of the year if you ask me, no doubt about that! I was rather imagining some really lucky buggers who get to fly there every other week or. I want such job if it exists :p

Wow! Standards are slipping. I'm used to flight attendants serving fresh bread from a bread basket when flying J. I spent a similar amount (well just a little more) to the 1k you spent for SYD-MEL for MEL-BNE-CNS last year. I did MEL-SYD-OOL this year and don't think I got pre-packaged bread on that either.

Well, I still got a bread basket both ways on my short hop only last week SYD-MEL and back in J. I'd guess the pre-packaged bread has to do with this being a special meal request but I might be wrong?

Meadowlea margarine and pre-packaged bread on a $1011 J flight? O tempora, o mores!

And what on earth is one meant to do with the vinaigrette?! A digestif?

Haha, that threw me as well. I was thinking, this can't be for the bread, right? Maybe there was meant to be a small side salad that never arrived.

Exactly right - they still came around with the bread basket for the rest of the cabin (I was nearly offered some as well until the FA noted the package on my table).

I was hoping for something different (for lunch) than the toasted sandwich (as the hot option) that also seems to get offered on this route as a mid morning snack option. The prawn salad was quite nice, and sure beats the "plowmans plate" as the third option. I think VA may trump QF when it comes to lunch on this route.

On some runs I agree VA is better, but it isn't universal and to be fair I've had some decent meals on QF this month. But the prawn salad is at best a starter, not a meal.

IIRC, poached eggs, pancetta & onion with two fritta thingies. I didn't eat much as we were saving ourselves for breakfast in the F lounge.

QF881 OOL-MEL:

This flight had *4* count 'em FOUR options offered..at least 3 of them hot ones: Choices were a beef steak thing, a ravioli, another option I forget, and the sweet and sour chicken, which I took and, apart from could have done with a few more minutes in the oven, was pretty tasty:
