Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Will be traveling J from Syd - DPS this Friday so will report on current Asia experience.

This was considered business class meal on flight Syd - DPS. Service took so long I was totally not interested in sweets.
Soup. Ok.

Not that I'm finding excuses for QF but I'm wondering if it is possible the galleys in the 737 just aren't set up for the more involved international meal service, which then means things just take longer because there isn't as much room to move around in and to place things for the crew?

I didn't realise either. Last time I checked the thread was still titled "Domestic Business Class meals".
Guess it isn’t a perfect world. Check back a couple of pages when short Int flights were discussed.

Really have to say for a 2 hour lunch service this is dismal. A very cheap chicken salad and a piece of chocolate and a slice of bread. It is just so cheap and really it is BARELY better than economy. Why can't Qantas get this right??

I don't think the meals served in domestic J really will ever be on par with the price paid for a domestic J ticket. I've got used to toasted sandwiches on this CNS-BNE-CNS run at this time of the day!

Let's look at the math... catering cost of about $2-3 per meal? Let's say they were to double that cost... $6 per meal. The additional $3 x 12 pax on a 737, x 4 flights a day per aircraft, x 67 aircraft in the fleet... that would add up to an additional $3.5 million per year. Those figures don't allow for some aircraft that will be out for maintenance, but they also don't include any A330 domestics. The figures really add up.
