Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

We recevied this offer too. There is a slight chance that we may be able to take advantage of it...

I'm sure I and others can assist, if anyone would like to take advantage of it.....

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Got this as well. Perfectly timed as i was going to book flights today anyway.
Although my issue is that we use a US travel agent and i dont think our corporate booking system allows us to put in an ABN at time of booking only once its made and we go into the QF site.

T's & C's say "b) quote registered Qantas Business Rewards ABN and Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number at the time of booking," so thats going to be an issue.
Does anyone have experience on how much of an issue adding it after the booking is made with these promotions?

As long as it is a valid fare bucket, adding your ABN later is not an issue. (IME)

Some corporate fares do not earn business reward points though.

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Sweet
I have got points on the fare before so should be good. I checked my last work ticket we booked and it started with 081 so should be good

Qantas Business Rewards question

A purely theoretical question here.

An individual has an ABN and has signed up for Qantas Business Rewards. This person also works for a company as part of a regular job. This company isn't a Qantas Business Rewards member.

What would be the implications of putting the individual members ABN into the QF booking so as to get the extra points through Qantas Business Rewards. Is there anything in the T&Cs preventing this? Is there anything illegal or wrong with doing this? Could there be any problems?

My instinct says there is probably something wrong with doing this, but nothing specific comes to mind?

Thoughts appreciated.

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Yes the ticket needs to have the QF desination 081 Sdtravel, but it must also be in the correct fare buckets for Business Rewards earning, plus have ABN in booking by the end date of booking window. Then all the ducks will have lined up for you.

Interestingly, I got the offer this morning as well and registered. Nice timing, as VA Gold is in the bag (40 SC's to go and 110 SC's booked). Just need to confirm dates for travel in June and that'll be on QF.

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Sweet, all booked now.
The ticket says 17th due to the US travel agent we use but hopefully it still works since its inside the window in AEST hours.

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Those darn T's & C's.
Just re read them and i might get undone by "ticket that is purchased in Australia;". Our corporate travel agent is US based. Although i purchased it "in Australia" so will have to see.

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

No, your ordered the flights but they were processed by an offshore TA, thus IMHO nullifying your ability to follow the T&C's as the TA won't have "purchased the ticket in Australia", thus your ability to get the SC's don't look good

Yeh i figured as much.

Re: Qantas Business Rewards question

Awww...no one has any thoughts? :(

Re: Qantas Business Rewards question

Have you read the T&Cs to see what they say?

I doubt you would get picked up on it either way.

Re: Qantas Business Rewards question

If the company you do work for (err, the individual works for) has a corporate contract with Qantas, it likely wouldn't work.

Seems fine. Who's to say that the individual is not flying for his ABN company as well as for his day job?
However, technically it would depend on who pays for the flights. But since now they only have comfy chairs since the inquisition was ended by Napoleon when he invaded Spain in the 19C, go for it.:)

Re: Qantas Business Rewards question

Your instinct are correct Daver6. The Terms and Conditions show your responsibility an an ABN Holder and Member in Section 7:

7. Member obligations and responsibilities
7.1 Members must, and must ensure all their Account Managers, Account Users and Benefit Earners:

  1. comply with these Terms and Conditions; and
  2. do not abuse or misuse any Qantas Business Rewards Benefits, services or arrangements accorded to the Member as a result of Membership, including by:
    1. engaging in illegal or fraudulent activities;
    2. supplying or attempting to supply false or misleading information, or making a misrepresentation to Qantas Business Rewards Loyalty, the Qantas Group or any Program Partner;
    3. selling, assigning or transferring, or offering to sell, assign or transfer any Qantas Business Rewards Benefit other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions ; or
    4. acting in a hostile, abusive or aggressive way towards Qantas Business Rewards Loyalty or representatives of Qantas Business Rewards Loyalty or any Program Partner.
    5. creating multiple Membership Accounts that each receive Qantas Business Rewards Benefits

A Member = the entity that joined the Scheme with its ABN.

Add to that in Section 10:

10. Suspension or termination of a Member or Qantas Points
10.1 Qantas reserves the right to terminate a Member's participation in the Airline Reward Scheme or withhold or cancel Qantas Points if a Member or any of the Member's Qantas Business Rewards Flyers has attempted to claim Qantas Points or purchase Member Savings to which they were not entitled or attempted to redeem or transfer Qantas Points when they were not entitled to do so.

So IMHO, the hypothetical traveller does at their own peril with full knowledge of the consequences and had no come back if duly warned. QF aren't going to be lenient. Would you want to lose your Business rewards membership as well as your QFF membership?

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I note that the QF website now states there is a fee of $89-50 to join Business Rewards. Is this still charged if the principal member is already a QFF member? If so, seems a bit rich to me.

The joining fee has been in place since the beginning of the program. But they waive it periodically. From my recollection it's often towards the end of the year or when they launch something new.

The fee was in place when I joined, however by applying for the Westpac business choice rewards credit card it came with complimentary membership, also this card has 80k bonus points offer at the moment, and it still pays on ato spend (not sure for how long though). Ymmv
