Qantas Business Rewards [Replaces Aquire]

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

The joining fee has been in place since the beginning of the program. But they waive it periodically. From my recollection it's often towards the end of the year or when they launch something new.

The fee was in place when I joined, however by applying for the Westpac business choice rewards credit card it came with complimentary membership, also this card has 80k bonus points offer at the moment, and it still pays on ato spend (not sure for how long though). Ymmv

Thanks team,

I joined without the fee when it first started but +1 was recently looking to have her own account (she is currently registered as part of mine). I struggle to understand why QF continue to have joining fees and then regularly waive them; I would have thought that they would want to sign up as many members as possible.

As for the Westpac card, I think I'll wait until the dust settles before I apply for any new cards.

Re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Haven't earned any points on my account yet (just joined for the Caltex star card offer) and received an offer in my email today - earn 100pts with any partner between 15 may & 15 June and receive 8,000 bonus points. Anyone else get an offer like this?

Thinking of hiring a car for 1 day from AVIS or Budget and just leaving it in my driveway. At 4pts per $ even the cheapest option should earn more than 100pts.

I usually use secure parking when offers like that come about. By booking through their website as opposed to simply taking a ticket on entry, you save money too... so you just find the rate which works out to the amount of points you need and go shopping. Probably cheaper than hiring a car?

Thanks for that, a better alternative by the looks of it. Approx $40 for the car hire and get get 100pts by spending $34 on parking. Parking will actually be semi-useful as well rather than just basically giving Budget or Avis $40 for nothing.

I note that the QF website now states there is a fee of $89-50 to join Business Rewards. Is this still charged if the principal member is already a QFF member? If so, seems a bit rich to me.

The joining fee is being waived at the moment (until 30 June) if you didn't commit last month.

Hi - I booked a rental car with Avis under the current 8 points per $1 offer. Some points came through promptly, but only the normal 4 points per $1 ...

Does anyone know if the additional points will come through later as a separate entry? Or do I need to raise a claim with Avis? The T&Cs say contact Avis for any issues, not us.

Thanks.

So I've gone and booked some parking to get the points. Booked tomorrow and Thursday which will take me above the $34 required to earn the 100pts and trigger the 8k pt bonus offer. However I will only use the car park tomorrow and will just not turn up on Thursday. Assume a no-show will still earn the points since I have still incurred the cost and won't get a refund?

How long does it generally take for points to show in the account with these partners?

Tried to access QBR points on a Dell purchase for my business (2 laptops) - couldn't do it online so had to ring (as it wasn't one of their cookie cutter approach offers). That denies me 4,500 points :(

Back to flying to earn some points

QF business rewards

Hey all,

I'm a new proud owner of an ABN
non GST and a sole trader.

Is it worth me registering for the business rewards program or just keep on as I am.

Most of my flying will still be personal reasons

I'm a bit confused what it means for my normal account, which is my priority.

Had the points for this post overnight. So took just over a week. Interesting though that the Business Rewards website stated 3pts per $ but received 6pts per $. Must have been some kind of double points offer.

EDIT: 8k bonus pts yet to post so will see how long that takes.

You will earn pts on your personal account as normal and then additional points to the business rewards account provided you insert your ABN into the booking. Suggest signing up (for free) and proceed to insert your ABN for every booking you make.

My understanding is if the business with the ABN isn't registered for GST, you won't earn any extra points via Business Rewards.

Not so. I am a sole trader, not registered for GST, and have received plenty of points on my Business Rewards account.

Ahh, maybe I'm thinking of earning points from Qantas Flights.
Does look like you can still earn points via other partners.

At least it says on my login that I can't earn points from QF Flights.

I can't understand why it would say that.

I recently transferred 18,000 business rewards/Aquire points to my personal account; all of them were earned from flights by me or +1. Have you checked to see if your ABN/name/QFF number has been recorded correctly?

So I signed up. The site looked up my ABN ( I assume ) and told me I am not eligible for points or discount from flights. But ok to earn from partners. I'll put my ABN on my next booking anyway and see what happens.

Yep, everything is linked and under my profile says everything is complete. I might go and add my ABN to my flights coming up in August and see what happens...

My ABN isn't registered for GST, and that looks to be one of the criteria for earning points from Qantas purchases.

Maybe this is something that has been introduced more recently. I joined Aquire when it started and I don't remember being asked about being registered for GST. Of course, that may just be my memory failing me.

Surprises me that GST registration would be part of the criteria, do they consider that those not registered are not genuine businesses?
