Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Another question on chauffer drive. I will be landing at LHR and probably will need to transfer to LGW. Would this be considered acceptable use of the chauffer drive service? Has anyone tried this?

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Do we know when it's likely to open up for bookings on USA flights?

1st July

"... Chauffeur Drive is available to First and Business Qantas customers travelling on flights between Australia and London and Dubai from 31 March 2013, and between Australia and Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Santiago and Johannesburg from 1 July 2013.* The booking functionality for Chauffeur Drive in locations scheduled to commence from 1 July 2013 is not yet available. Further details will be available soon...."

But no JFK !

Already is for my itinerary commencing August 8th to USA, but that might be because same itinerary comes back via DXB?

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

I will report later today if my chauffeur drive from BNE to home works.
It took a lot or phone calls to QF and another lot when I made the F lounge in April.
Fingers crossed.

It did work. No issues, same driver as outward transfer

The conditions don't seem to preclude it ("Within a 70-mile radius of the airport, including all Greater London postcodes") and the distance would be around 45miles so well under the limit.

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Hi all, We are flying J on QF1 have booked the chauffeur service to SYD. I would like to be picked up earlier than the options given on The QF site but there is no space for "comments" or any indication give who to contact .Has anyone had this experience? Is it possible to be picked up earlier?
Thanks

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

hello

Does anyone know if I can delay the pickup at Heathrow so we can use the arrivals lounge first? The booking engine doesn't have a comments field or any delay options.

thanks

It would be best to discuss your options with our Reservations team on 13 13 13. :)

Thanks Red Roo ,
I did try to discuss same last week when I was on the phone to Qantas, they did not seem to know how the chauffeur service worked (admittedly I was on the Domestic Premium line). I will try again.
May I suggest communication with the chauffeur service by email might be a good idea - especially when the PAX is overseas.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll pass this on to the team. :)

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Can I run two options by people to find out when Chauffeur Drive applies?

1. BNE-MEL in Y, MEL-LHR (QF9) in F, all on same itinerary
2. BNE-MEL in J, MEL-LHR (QF9) in F, all on same itinerary

A. Does the Chauffeur drive service apply in both cases for pick-up in BNE, regardless of Y or J travel on the Domestic connection?

B. If yes, where exactly at the Domestic Terminal in BNE would Chauffeur drive service drop off? E.g. is it at the Valet parking drop-off area or is it at the public kerbside drop-off area?

C. At the LHR end, does the timing of the Chauffeur drive collection service prevent you from going to the AA arrivals lounge? (Or, for example, can you set the collection to a specific time?)

D. Does Chauffeur drive service apply for F travel where it's a Points Upgrade from J?

Thanks

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

Hi Kervo,

I think you may still get it if it's all in the one ticket? Can't confirm that myself, however you may get it out of BNE on Y - or potentially just in MEL if you have a stop over.

I'm doing WLG-MEL-LHR-DUB at the end of the year and have already put in for WLG and both ways at MEL (due to 23 hour stopover). You should definitely get it at BNE if J out and F onwards. Can't help with the rest, maybe give the QF reservations team a call on the number provided by RR?

I would guess that this is fine. You don't have a driver allocated to you until you actually present yourself at the chauffeur desk at LHR, so it's not like a guy is going to be standing there waiting for you while you're in the lounge.

You mean there won't be a driver the with a name board saying OATEK when we exit at LHR! SWMBO will be disappointed.

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

So I just checked this tonight. For my SYD-DXB flight I was able to book a pick up through Chauffeur Drive when i'm in Premium Economy.

Could this have something to do with my J JFK-SYD return flight on the same open-jaw ticket?

Re: QF Chauffeur Drive booking up & running :)

My Mel-Syd-Sin and Sin-Bne-Mel flight in 3 weeks has Chauffeur Drive accepted for the booking, called 131313 and its all fine. Just have to pay the extra Km's
