You in PER? I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting you yet.
indeed, I haven't made it to any AFF gatherings!

I think PER-MEL-SYD-CBR sneaks in under the 41.5k points mark - are there any other actually bookable routings, where J is offered, that anyone would recommend? I haven't been able to get to the payment page on anything with 4 flights.

I seem to recall issues if the same email address is used on more than one account, you dont happen to have your email addy on the kids or partners accounts?

Other than that check email preferences, spam and try registering online instead of via app.
Yes, I had an error too and since I had to call up the FF centre for a different matter. After that, I asked them about this error of not being able to register for it. The person on the other end said let me check and found that my email appeared to be invalid/blocked. It was re-set it and we then tried to register for it and it worked and the information email also happened immediately.

Could be a setting on your email preferences in your profile just needs to be re-set/refreshed.

Toss up to post here or on one of the best status run threads......
Would like to visit friends and rellies in the USA later this year. Being that PER is the domestic departure point QF flights are normally not "financially attractive" once you look above economy seating.....
Seems that AA has a bargain PE fare DPS-SYD-LAX (well less than half QF) with QF flight #s on the DPS-SYD sectors.
QF flight on QF metal. Will they get double points on a AA issued ticket?
Or should I be considering more convential (via NRT/HND) wandering

Yes, but presumably that sector will be in whY (on 737 redeye)?

There are good fares ex-CGK/DPS heading the other way but not in play for DSC (other than QF71/72 positioning flights.

I was still able to pick up one of the attractive sale fares to NZ at a cost/SC of $3.01. Reasonable value in the current pricing climate. Still have to accrue a few more to hold onto Platinum for the next year.

T & C's say
"Flight gift vouchers purchased during the promotion but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will not earn double Qantas Points or double Status Credits"
That’s what they say all the time. However my experience is that it has worked in the last.

Sometimes with some very weird results like missing SC on some legs and other times no status credits in return flights

This thread is so long, I may have missed this q&a. The rules say "Australian Domestic and International Qantas operated flights with a ‘QF’ flight number booked between 23 March and 28 March 2023." If I book MEL-ASP it offers MEL-ADL-ASP. Two legs is better than one for SC. No problem there. But "Flight QF1956 is operated by Alliance Airlines", and some flights on other trips I'm looking to book are operated by QantasLink. Do these count for DSC? Why are Qantas so slack/ambiguous in their wording? All these flights have QF flight numbers, but they are not strictly operated by Qantas.

Alliance is fine. it's basically owned by QF. DSC will apply to any QantasLink regional service.

For any plats who need 700 to requal next year I just booked SYD MEL DPS MEL SYD 320 x 2 640 sc used 2 amex vouchers and booked 2 one ways cost me 3100 less 850
or if no status get gold almost in one trip!

Great. Thanks. I was just unsure as it is not literally what they say. After all, JQ is also owned by QF but no DSC there. I've got about 20 flights to book now.

It's not about who owns who, as you say QF owns Jetstar and they don't count, @RichardMEL is incorrect, they own less than 20% of Alliance - although there is a pending takeover deal waiting approval. But at the moment, it's not full ownership.

That's not the point, the reason the Alliance flights count is that they have QF codes, they are not sold as any other code, they are flown for Qantas and not for Alliance in their own right. Alliance do operate their own flights for themselves and these don't count - it's only the Alliance flights operated exclusively for Qantas, as Qantaslink, that count.

As do the other Qantaslink carriers - National Jet, Sunstate, Eastern Australia and Network Aviation.

You're right. I jumped the gun a bit given the pending takeover - just kind of assumed it is a done deal but sure right now correct.. it/s not full.

Agree with this :)

Q & A says
Gift Vouchers purchased and redeemed for an eligible flight booking made during the promotion period will be eligible for the bonus reward. Gift Vouchers purchased but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking (for flights that are not booked or travelled within the booking or travel period dates), will not earn the bonus reward.

Very confused . . . Can a lawyer explain this?

They mean you need to book eligible flights in the booking(promotion) period - ie: March 23-29th for travel in the travel period - ie March 29 - Feb 28. Any other variation will not be eligible basically. Which is also what the fine print says.

Yes but given AA is selling as a PremY transPAC fare it should be flex economy (normal 60 SC @ way) on DPS-SYD
And the fare is VERY attractive (comparable to NRT transit but with 2~) .
All I would need is a window seat to allow sleeping.

When compared with domestic options would be worth doubling while wandering

I tried that but I couldn't make the return work out of CBR, I only want to overnight once, alot of the flights the final leg is in economy, so I didn't bother, this should net me the 208 SC for Gold...

I really should have pushed it into the next membership year >1st June 2023, but I already got too many trips planned this year, so will look at a SC run next year....

I had a back to back platinum run in July 2022, but I got COVID 2 days before flying so had to cancel that, all up it would have cost $2,500 for a platinum run!!

Should have another AFF catchup soon! I haven't seen members in over 5 years I think

All set for WP until mid 2025.

Booked some flights I was going to take anyway through BA at an average of about $2.3/SC. Excellent value with PCP + DSC.

Had to book some of them through the BA service centre because their website is a disaster.

While everyone was polite and friendly, they were absolutely hopeless. One simple booking took over an hour, calls kept dropping out, on one call I got a recorded message (ie voice mail prompt) that was a recording from another customer complaining they couldn't get through to BA (including the person's member name + number -- bizarre breach of privacy!!!), another representative couldn't see any flights between MEL & SYD after 8.45am (I presume there were so many award flights on the one day that the screen couldn't show them all at once), etc etc.

Makes QF look competent.

Are you staying in Bali for a bit? I was looking at this as an immediate turnaround but really unsure I’m game to try a transit and turnaround in DPS…
