(including for CA flights with PC/PC+)?

(including some CA flights as a PC member),
From what I understand, PC/PC+ earn SC on CR bookings only on QF and not on partner airlines. Flight club rules applies for any deviations.

If I don't link their FF number now, and do it later at a time when it's ok for them to know, will they still be able to benefit from the DSC promotion? I
My understanding is that as long as that FF number is registered for DSC promo, they will be offered DSC if their FF number is on the booking. That being said, FF number can be added at the time of check-in or when you decide to reveal the surprise. Shouldn't make a difference to the earn. Just ensure that FF number is attached to the booking before travel commences
If it matters, I'll be travelling on the same booking so it would already be linked to my FF number (for DSC).
Doesn't matter because each individual FF number must be registered & linked to the booking to earn DSC

how quickly does everyone usually see their DSCs post
First batch after the promo starts: a month or so. Thereon: <72 hours.
Given you're travelling in May, I would expect it to credit in <72h by then.
I want them to benefit from the offer, but have no knowledge of the booked trip. I've already secretly signed them up for the offer, but am unsure what options I have re: associating their FF number with the booking? i.e. If I link their number now, they'll be able to see the booking in their app and that ruins the surprise. I'm reasonably confident it will be OK to link their FF number at a later time.

Booked a CBR-MEL-PER-CBR buzz around the country, 83,000 pts + $159 for 188SC. Hoping the wifi works and it’ll be a day of remote work from the sky and back in time for dinner just making SG.

Hopefully without both the missus and work noticing!

Apologies, typo on my part. I meant to type "CR" as they're definitely Classic Award bookings on QF metal.

Thanks - I suppose if worst comes to worst, it'll be a phone call or email to Qantas to chase the points.

Fantastic! That bodes very well then. 👍

Ideally, noting however that a trip I took in Late January booked under last years March DSC took 4 weeks to appear.
Oh dear! Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

Long time member, long time lurker (and exceedingly sporadic poster! 🙃). Apologies if this isn't in the right location. I've got two questions with which I'm hoping folks can assist please?
  1. I know what it says in the T&Cs, but in practice, how quickly does everyone usually see their DSCs post (including for CA flights with PC/PC+)?
Reason I ask... I'm currently SG and If I've done my sums correctly when adding up rollover SCs, loyalty bonus, forward bookings (including some CA flights as a PC member), I should earn enough to attain WP (once the DCSs are credited). All the afore-mentioned qualifying travel should be complete by May 2nd. Wondering what my chances are of being recognised as WP by 2nd half of May as I have a subsequent SYD->HND flight in the 2nd half of May as I have an upgrade request that's been lodged since November and am hoping WP will improve my chances of success? Would also love to use the appropriate lounges in both SYD and HND ;)
  2. I'm looking to book a surprise trip for a family member during the final hours of the DSC offer. I want them to benefit from the offer, but have no knowledge of the booked trip. I've already secretly signed them up for the offer, but am unsure what options I have re: associating their FF number with the booking? i.e. If I link their number now, they'll be able to see the booking in their app and that ruins the surprise. Appreciate any wisdom the community can offer.
Cheers!
For me in the past they've always credited within 2 weeks, sometimes within 2 days, but only when they have been credited. There's a couple that I never received.

Fingers crossed yours go through in time for the trip to Japan. The JAL F lounge at HND is really quite nice.

If it's looking dicey, I might try a phone call to see if I can get things moving, but hopefully not needed (and not even sure how successful that'd be in any case).

I saw your comment last night on the JAL F Lounge. Sounds pretty nice. Forgive my ignorance, but am I right in thinking that I could access that lounge (with a guest) as a WP regardless of my ticket class (i.e. we'll be in Y)?

You are correct. If you are WP (or any OW Emerald) you will have access to that lounge if you are flying on a OW carrier.

Webjet flights provide SC right? I have an Amex offer I'm considering using during DSC.

Booked a 5 day weekend in Asia later this year.
SYD-PER (QF643) - Y (15+15 SCs)
PER-SIN (QF71) - Y (18 + 18)
BKK-SYD (QF24) - J (48 + 48)
Booked them as classic rewards and I'm a Points Club member so I'll get 162 SCs all up for just $362 in taxes. Gives me flexibility to decide what to do later in the year.

This was in addition to my BNE-AKL J flight (booked for $760) which will net me 160 and my SYD-AKL Y flight (booked for $360) to meet up with the QF3 points plane that will net me 40.

I'm proud of what I've booked (362 SCs for just under $1500) and think I can retain WP with this and the other international trips I booked for the year prior to this offer (Points plane trip to the US and back plus a trip to Delhi in May).

I booked SYD <> HND Flex Y 240 SC. Considered doing via MEL for the extra SC but I knew i'd be hating life if I did that to myself. It wasn't very good value $2850 (used $450 amex credit to take it to $2500) but its a trip I plan on taking anyway, and hopefully I can get the upgrade to J to make the flex fare worth it. I'd rather over spend on a trip I plan on taking then take a pure status run. I'm trying to book SYD <> YVR Flex Y 360 SC also but the website isn't working now. I might call or worst case book through Amex travel if I run out of time and the website still isn't working. At $4450 it is absolutely horrible value but again a trip I plan on making and I'm not 100% on the dates so the flex gives me the flexibility later. With these 2 bookings I'll have enough to requalify for WP.

No doubt it's been answered already, but there are a lot of posts to read, so, I'm looking at baked a trip to Vietnam and another trip to Fiji, Vietnam will be a QF ticket with vietnam air metal and Fiji will also be a QF ticket with fiji metal. Will these give me DSC?

No. Needs to be Qantas metal to get DSC.

Fair U availability in August 2022 to Tokyo, although that would be quite a commitment if you haven't planned a trip already. Only 192 SC for 164k points though.
