Qantas double status credits: Register & book between 12-18 March 2025

Hi guys, I have a trip that was booked during the promo but the 1st flight was the past Monday which was before the fly window opened, however return was last Wednesday which is the 1st day of the fly window. I know my outbound flight wouldn’t be eligible for DSC due to timing, but would my return flight got DSC?
The flight in the flying window should get DSC. DSCs always take a while to post at the start of the flying window. Once they do start posting someone is sure to mention it in this thread.

If past feb/mar threads are any indication that usually is about 4 weeks or so for the first batch.

I see that QF now has a big fare sale on to the Americas just as their annual DSC promotion ends. I’m not sure who is responsible for marketing at QF but this is clearly a case of the left hand not talking to the right hand. Who mistimes promotions like these? Evidently someone who won’t be working with QF for long!
Funnily enough, during the most recent DSC promo there were sale fares available to Singapore and Hong Kong - both ex-Melbourne.

I can confirm that - I booked a few of those; jolly of living in Singapore!

Here's one for the brains trust - I booked SYD-LAX-SFO during the promotion, on QF metal to LAX and then AS metal to SFO. This was booked through our corporate travel platform, Navan. The fare class was Economy Saver (S), earning 60 SCs (before DSC) for the SYD-LAX segment. Navan provided an option to upgrade for ~$750 into T class (Premium Economy Saver), which I took. Under this, I would've earned 90x2 = 180 SCs. I subsequently put in for a Classic Upgrade Reward to J, which came through yesterday afternoon.

As you may have seen in the Qantas delays thread, QF11 has been delayed 29 hours. I realised this evening that Qantas hadn't re-booked my LAX-SFO leg. The first agent I spoke to claimed that, because I had checked in to the AS flight, they couldn't make any changes. He eventually added a second LAX-SFO flight, but couldn't remove the original one from the booking. I naturally wasn't happy with this as I was concerned about a no-show impacting subsequent segments. I've since called Navan, who have got hold of another agent in Cape Town who has been more helpful. She has managed to rebook me onto the direct QF73, but in U class (Classic Flight Reward Business), meaning I am likely to only earn 72x2 = 144 SCs as a PCP member.

What am I likely to be entitled to? And how much of a pain is it likely to be to get it credited? Is this considered a voluntary change?

Could you claim ORC from the Y+ flights since your change to QF73 was involuntary?

Dont you just love it how QANTAS has a sale for Auckland a week before deciding to shut the lounge for over a year?

That's my hope. What's strange is that in 'My Bookings' on the web, the segment is alternating between 'Earn 15,750 Qantas Points and 90 Status Credits as a Points Club Plus member' and 'Earn 72 Status Credits as a Points Club Plus member'. Definitely re-booked into U class.

People don't usually book a sale flight to just go to a lounge? Generally most would have reasons to travel.
I think the sale would be the enticement or offset for having the lounge shutdown. But excuse me for thinking it is the only lounge avaialable! Qantas has arranged for its eligible customers—such as Qantas Club members, etc, and those traveling in Business Class—to use the Emirates Lounge at Auckland Airport as an alternative, albeit through a partner airline. The Emirates Lounge is located near the current Qantas lounges, and its use will depend on Emirates extending its operating hours to accommodate Qantas passengers, though specific details on this adjustment are not fully known to me - as I am a lowly functionary. There is a priority pass lounge-The Strata Lounge - the sole Priority Pass option at the airport. I enjoy the Platinum one service when transiting Auckland to Australia and vice - versa - I am overjoyed as all the queues are gone for P1’s and I enjoyed the extra attention and being walked through passport control and security ahead of everyone else(nice touch Qantas). Nice really nice To get those double status credits this way. I am booked already to go in May and have already done two trips this year. It was the single factor that got me into P1 territory even though I was not flying in paid J.

They're sending everyone to the Emirates Lounge though. Honestly, it's an upgrade!
Maybe not "everyone" ... this from an SG ...
as a contrast to my WP email:
From 23 April 2025, we'll begin construction on our new Auckland lounge, which will feature increased capacity and a premium dining experience showcasing the best of New Zealand food and wine. During construction, the lounge will be temporarily closed. If you're travelling from Auckland over the construction period, we will be reaccommodating you in the Emirates lounge, located directly across from our existing Qantas lounge.

Is that confirmed?

There were posts yesterday (in the AKL refurb thread) where WP/P1 reported their comms email stated the Emirates lounge would be available to them, but the comms email to an SG member was mysteriously lacking that same line...

Confirm different emails as above for Lat34 household (1x WP, 1x SG) SG = ...we'll keep you up to date on alternate (Lounge) arrangements closer to your flight.

Good pickup. Qantas said at its latest investor day that it would send its passengers to the Emirates lounge, but there were no further details. I'll try to get clarity, in the meantime probably best if that discussion continues in the Auckland lounge thread rather than here. :)

Anyone have any experience how DSCs might credit for this route (or something similar) please: QF3 SYD-AKL connecting to QF5763 AKL-CHC operated by JetStar

Wondering if QF will/can somehow split out the AKL-CHC points and DSCs?
