Qantas / Emirates tie up (Partnership inc. Codeshare, Status)

Otherwise, there's flights to SIN on QF then with BA World Traveller Plus to LHR (not as good as QF, but perhaps cheaper after the JSA dissolves); or CX via HKG, which may or may not have PE equipped aircraft going between PER and HKG, then further afield to your desired European destination (or BA to LHR).

Certainly by the start of the new year, CX will have PE on all the A330s HKG-PER flights and likely all Australia destinations. I just haven't bothered to keep track of the closer in time frame.

Pity CX doesn't regularly offer the T class fares.

Happy wandering.

You get your status bonus on any BA flight don't you? If it earns points then it earns status bonus. The difference isn't huge though in your example - you would get 400 rather than 200 points.

EDIT

Wow 12,000 posts...

yes I think you are right. it is worth noting though as well that during double SC promotions the QF codeshares on BA qualified

I'm liking the free Limo service that QF will now be offering for all Int J and F pax once the tie-up is in place.

Yes you do get status bonus. AF codeshare LHR-GLA got me 1000 (400+400) the BA flight GLA-LHR earned 174 (87+87).

Flashware, I will travel on the excellent Virgin Trains first class service to London Euston so don't fret the London drinks will still be on

While you still can...... First Great Western won the bid and will be taking over the franchise, much to SRB's disgust! :(

Is it likely that a seat allocation for a flight booked on QF1 SYD-LHR in May next year will be retained after the flight times and route are changed?

I don't understand why people are questioning if QF numbered flights will get SC's. They always have and can't see it changing any time soon.

While I can't see any problem with codeshares on Emirates, QF codeshares on Jetstar airlines don't always earn SCs, so there is a precendent for doing something different.

Because people panic, people state erroneous information as fact, people post that the world is coming to an end and that QFi is going to be shut down tomorrow. People also assume the worst.

More appropriate would be to reprise the old logo of the kangaroo with wings, except attach the wings of a falcon, or give the kangaroo and falcon head.

Or how about leaving it as is, afterall Qantas has a huge network being served by the best part of 200 a/c (in Qantas livery). Afterall Europe which is what the EK tie up is all about is a piddly part of the network as a whole for very good reasons.

Personally I find the logo suggestion to be offensive and racist. Especially, as vast sections of Australia were opened up with the use of camels.

When is the inaugural SYD-DXB flight? I hope to jump on that maiden flight (and also visit Dubai and visit an all you can eat meat restaurant) Who else is interested?

I might be stuck in Y for that flight so hoping for 80A/K or 71D ... and and hopefully with jb747 at the wheels.

First flight will be on the 1st of April. But obviously still nothing updated in the GDS or any schedule.

You don't think that they will avoid that date for obvious reasons? Also it is Easter weekend but not Easter school holidays.
