Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

And it was closed yesterday too yet a conversation onboard with crew suggested Qantas was back to 70% approx capacity.
Really? I’m surprised. Sydney airport (Domestic) is totally deserted today, almost spookingly so.

And I’ve received several flight cancellations and equipment downgrades for the next two months or so. But then- 70% is obviously still far from 100 so maybe that all fits together better than I would have thought.

Agree. It sounds rather high to me too given WA is knocked out pretty much. The Biz lounge was getting extremely busy though by around 4pm. All seats occupied. "Breaking" point soon I think.

Qantas said the delay in the WA border resulted in a 10% reduction in capacity overall.

I've just spoken to Qantas about this. They are aware of the issue and are currently fixing it. Most people should have the correct status showing again on their account by the end of today.
Thank you so much! My status has just reverted back to Platinum, while in the air funnily.

That was way quicker than I would have thought tbh.

Logout and try again maybe? Or possibly takes time to wash through.
I already did that - they maybe do the Platinum's first. I certainly qualify for the extension as I met the criteria. I hope that I don't have to call them!

Does anyone have advanced info about status extension beyond June 2022. Mines will expire in Aug and I would hope for the same deal or at least some clarity about what is required to retain the status.

I think it will all be sorted as per The Editors post. Wait until tomorrow.

Fixed for me as well. Now waiting for the roll over status credits to show up ;)
There I’m not quite that concerned because it said from the start that these would appear “during the month of February” or something along those lines.

Got my 100 SC roll over for Points Club plus instantly though- at least something!

I think MEL QC shut is an example of QF reacting to how quiet it is. It was open a little while back but I guess there just wasn't demand. As usual all QC eligible folks sent to J lounge so no issue there, and it was about medium busy when I was there lunchtime, but still plenty of space to distance and so on.

It may also reflect a staff shortage due to covid cases, close contacts, isolation etc.. but the terminal itself was very quiet.

Anyone with advanced knowledge of their plans would work at QANTAS and wouldn't be able to talk about it.

I suspect (just a guess) that it'll be something similar to the previous offers. Need to book one new flight that you don't cancel and rollover of the same number of Status Credits as previously with the same limitations as to which status credits qualify for rollover.

With much more flying going on now, especially domestic, in this scenario I think QF might require that the qualifying four flights must be flown (unless QF cancel the flight). Then again, there might be no further help! 😧 DSC offers would be needed then.

Fair call. i have just done 2 flights with QF. a few short domestic flight would not be a problem but they need to set the term early and up front. now is the time for QF to announce their plan.
