Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

Most people with July onwards expiries (except for those in WA) will have been able to travel more freely for over half the current membership year by the time it ends so there certainly could be a case made to provide less support than previously.

I may have two trips to the UK in my current membership year.

The interesting thing is that Qantas has the data to decide exactly how many members they want at each QFF level going forward. They can then simply adjust the status support to keep approximately that many members (excluding those who already qualify under the normal qualification rules). So it will really come down to whether they think keeping members at a higher level for longer, even when they're not flying, is worth it in terms of bringing more revenue in the future. I can imagine that keeping Platinum or Gold members who aren't flying that much, doesn't actually cost the airline much (since they're not going to lounges or getting extra points, etc), so there's not too much drawback in extending status support.

I had initially thought QF wouldn't do any further extensions with those with expiries in the second half of the year able to travel if they want to in some cases for well over half the membership year, but with international competitors extending status and with low confidence to travel at the moment I think they will extend for the July-December expiries with similar rules to the Jan-June extensions. For after that we'll have to see how open things remain.

Because it really is the international travel that garners high status credits.

Not just WA. Severely limited opportunities in NZ too.

I called up Qantas this morning while driving to work ~8:00 am Adelaide time and almost ran into the back of someone’s car (!) when the QFF line picked up within three rings. Manila call centre lady acknowledged my eligible flights and after a few clicks on her end she confirmed she can see I’m back to Plat. Rolled over SCs will take 3-5 business days to appear but she promised to keep an eye out. Entire call took 5 minutes. Gobsmacked.

The Manila call centre did actually help? Now I am gobsmacked too.

Curious to hear if those roll over credits really appear in the end!

I think it will all be sorted as per The Editors post. Wait until tomorrow.
I am back to Gold - all sorted. And status credits all rolled over. Now, I just need to find a way to earn 515 SC within a year to retain Gold in a year's time. I have a feeling that this won't be that easy unless DSC comes back at a reasonable price (or something similar and fancy than that).

Status roll over had also just happened. Unless there’s yet more Covid variants coming our way (Sigma? Upsilon?), should be easy peasy to maintain Platinum.

Got 680 SCs already and with my upcoming trip to the US in March I’ll almost be there. Nice.

Manila? I’d be checking the QFF account, to verify. 🤭

Yes, saw my tier change to Plat but SCs 0 when I reopened my Qantas app 30 minutes after the call. Correct SCs credited last night when I rechecked.

I'm trying to work out whether I cancel or retain a high-earn DSC PRN booked for the final days of my membership year

Can any of the Jan or Feb year-end members confirm if DSCs rolled over as part of the latest round of rollovers?

The FAQ's and table are ambiguous. I'd argue DSC are "earned through flying". But are they considered a "bonus, support or gift" by QF?
