Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

Anybody not get an email confirming your status extension and/or rollover? I feel like most people have reported getting one, which has me a bit concerned that either our interpretation of the rules is wrong, or I'm at least going to have to spend some time on the phone post my renewal date.
I have received such an email at 3:45 PM yesterday:

Perhaps they are sending it out in tranches, perhaps it's the usual IT glitch from QF. Who knows!

I'm pretty happy that with the status rollover and if there's a DSC offer valid for travelling in 2023, I will be able to requalify WP to Dec 2024 for 350 SCs (doubled to 700, + the 500 SCs I can rollover that I've already earned from travel in 2022).

This is what everyone got whose status renewal was January to June 2023.
Not me. March 2023 renewal, I got "because you flew with us and retained" no extension for you. Like in 2020.

However, I should be eligible for 500 credits rollover in April 2023

I haven't. I have levelled up to WP in my own right so I don't qualify for an extension though I should qualify for the rollover.
Thanks for the information. Useful to know I'm not the only one in this situation - it seems like anyone who levelled up in the past year did not get an email. Hopefully the rollover still processes correctly for us, and we don't have to go chasing it up (although I suspect there's a chance we will have to...)

Another data point. Retained SG then levelled up to WP. No mention of Status rollover in my letter.

That's incorrect.

Whatever status you have in March 2023 will be extended to March 2024.
No. Because I retained in my current membership year (ending March 2023) I get that status for the remainder of this year and next, as normal. There is no extension being handed out by Qantas, as in this case I am ineligible for an extension as I continued flying.

Isn't it just so confusing? I am requalified already to Feb 2023 but DID receive an extension to Feb 2024. What's in a month, you ask?
Because I haven't yet quite qualified for renewal myself to Feb 2024, I receive 15,000 FF points. You have qualified, so you should have received 30,000 points? Did you? But we both receive the rollover of 500SC. :) I think I came out ahead of you by THAT much!

Well that wasn't clear from your first post. Indeed, I'm not sure why you replied saying 'Not me' — you were in fact offered the same extension to 2024, it's simply that you didn't need to avail yourself of it because you have already retained status until 2024 due to flying.

I replied because of the statement that *everyone* with those membership dates got a free extension into 2024 when it is not true. Only eligible people get a free extension for another year. The free extensions are not available to everyone.

I was not offered the same extension as I received this pearl "Because you flew with us you can enjoy another year of status". Well der, Qantas. No extensions offered and I don't have a crystal ball knowing when Qantas will bestow such offers and on to whom to avail myself of them beforehand. So you are saying that perhaps if I did have one I would have actually received one of these free extensions in the past 3 years?

All these freebies are to say sorry for all the optimistic scheduling, cancellations, delays by carrier, poor or no catering, delayed or lost baggage, inept call centres or being stranded at my expense which have occurred regularly for me in the past year and more (well, except baggage). Funny that the people who generally benefitted the most from these handouts and three years of free extensions are the people who are likely to have experienced this the least as they haven't been flying as much as those that got ... a handful of points.:rolleyes:

Yeah I am amused at the hotch potch way they have been applying the extensions and other freebies. Some are more ahead than others at different times. The most I've got out of the handouts are the status support the first year; didn't get an extension as just qualified before covid hit in March but only needed 25% to retain. The rollovers since have helped a bit but you still need to get the larger portion to retain. You never know if or when there will be any free extensions bestowed and often when they make the decision it comes late in your membership year so you're not given it or anything else, at least this time there is a consolation prize though the extra 15K doesn't even cover a return econony award to my nearest city.

Everyone did get a free extension into 2024. As you had already retained membership until 2024, there was nothing to extend to you. I'm not sure why you are arguing this point. To suggest otherwise is entirely misleading.

However, I do understand your frustration at being offered so little. Given you are flying a lot to have requalified for WP so early into your 2022-23 membership year, you have presumably been one of the people most affected by QF's ineptitude and yet you are merely offered an extra 15K points over and above everyone else.

It shows the hamfisted way in which QF has implemented this apology.

Um, no.

Existing 31 July 2023 = no extension.
I mean within the criteria Qantas set out: that is, Jan-June 2023 end dates. The claim being made by the other poster is that people within that criteria didn't get an extension to 2024, which is only going to confuse people.

Which, unfortunately isn’t “everyone” ☹️. Exactly the same cutoff occurred in August last year but at least we July’ers got picked up in the subsequent Status Keeper. I doubt we’ll be that lucky this time around.

I'm extended to April 2024. Just hoping I'll be able to make use of it (currently banned on Doctor's orders).
