And my father;s everyday rewards card continues to roll in with the bonus points offers.

Latest one is 100 birthday bonus points for shopping at any participating outlet.

I used to receive regular, weekly offers for all sorts of things when I only had an Every Day Rewards card. When I applied for the EDR Credit Card, I was issued with a new EDR account number and card which were linked to the new credit card and the weekly offers stopped immediately on activating the new account number. Yesterday, out of the blue, I received this;

Looks like I will be buying 3 cartons of coke this week. Now I just need 1 of those alcohol offers to go with it.

OMG!

At the highest rate of 20 points per litre, with an empty tank on the big car, I could net as much as 3180 points… that’s a super offer!!

I shall have to take a look down the soda aisle to see if that’s a generic offer.

And I just looked online, can’t see the coke special, but the Finish Powerballs for the dishwasher are half price (on selected packs) this week… not a bad saving.

Got the usual offer, but l can now choose between QF points or a Discount on Fuel. Up in BNE for work this week, out of the blue, so l won't be making any perchases. See how l go with an offer next week......

I felt unloved. Then they sent me a new EDR card with my name printed on it. :p

Has anyone else recieved this?

That has happened occasionally to people, not sure how they determine that unless you specifically ask for a new card though, through your account on their website.

No emails here either, though it’s tomorrow we should be having this conversation.

Mrs Shintaro is only a new QFF & EDR member, in the past she would use my EDR card or QEDRCC to farm points for me. However since she now has a supplementary QEDRCC linked to my account she now has two new cards (1) EDR Card (2) QFF Card

BOTH of these cards are different than mine: -
  • The EDR card has her name printed on it (My card is an old card and has no name on the front like hers)
  • The QFF card is a "printed" card now not a "Raised stamped" card like my card is (Old Bronze Card)

I never joined EDR, Qantas joined me up automatically and sent me out a card. So I'm guessing they were targeting elite members that had not joined themselves?

You can order a new card on the web site, and they'll send you out a full size card with your name on it, and two cards for your keychain.

After mainly using Coles/Flybuys, we are about to switch to EDR (currently use EDR but not as much as ColesFB). After putting all our groceries, fuel etc through FB for a couple of years I logged in to find out I could be lavished with a $20 gift voucher with the points I have accumulated. WTF??? What a waste of time

Meantime, with just the occasional EDR purchase over the same period, have accumulated almost 5000FF points.

Is there really such a huge discrepancy between these programs or am I missing something?

That 5000 points will get you a $50 gift voucher... Not really a big difference unless you use your Qantas FF points to redeem for business class seats overseas.

What I mean is that those 5000 points accumulated with only the occasional purchase from woolies - whereas most of our groceries are bought from Coles. Also I forgot to mention that we buy everything at coles using the Source mastercard which gives additional points.

I imagine Coles would counter that I get the fuel discount also, however I find there is never a Shell when I need to fill up so often never get the added benefit.
