Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

If you were really committed, you'd have worked out the sales cycle that your particular brand of toilet paper is on. Many basic products have a cycle where they will appear on sale every x weeks.

No need for one of the secret of saving money is not not stick to one brand where possible

I am happy brand cough.

In this case as long as they pass the "comfort' test of the Mrs and three daughters I just buy whichever of these is on sale....one of which is always on sale within a fornight. The home "Quality Control Department" soon advises the "Purchasing Department" if an error has been made which is duly noted for future purchases ;) Repeat poor purahases have dire consequences!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing how that cry of Daaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddd can make one flee/cringe ;)

However sometimes taste/quality does decree a single brand /product...or even that it is unique (ie Vegemite).

It's ok if ones "quality control department" has approved multiple brands. :) Sometimes a single brand is dictated!

LOL I could not help but laugh :D Not to mention how particular the other .... oh, never mind. ;) :D

Do remember to remind your daughters one day that they will have to deal with the "Purchasing Department" being outsourced.... ;)

Not sure if a single "Daaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddd" suffices to avoid supposed "dire" consequences.... (although what is "dire" to one may not be for another - now the females in your household reading these posts... that could be dire.... :p)

This thread seem to have taken a strange turn. I feel as thought I'm on Twitter!

What? I've restrained myself from a detailed description of various qualities in usage that dictate a limited range of options in our house on the toilet paper front. So it is not a strange as it could be.... ;)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Anyway...more directly back on topic.

  • My first points have posted :)
  • No sign of the 500 bonus points yet tough in any of the 5 accounts
  • Will use each of the other 4 cards for the next purchases so that all are off and running...as well as putting "activity" into two QFF accounts that have not had any activity for 2.5 years.

The amount of promotion that is behind this new alliance is huge.

Hundreds of balloons in every store
Roving Orange shirted loyalty card team members handing out cards left right and centre
Advertisements on heaps of bus shelters and inside shopping centers.
LOTS of people signing up for the card

For the average "Mum and Dad" shopping they will need to spend a few years shopping before they can go on a family holiday to Movie World on the Gold Coast.

For me a lazy 10,000 points per year for doing nothing extra.

I have my fingers crossed they have promotion from time to time with boni points. :D

This is Phase 1 in Woolies strategy. Next will be the push for EDR card members to take up an Everyday Money Credit Card. Woolies will receive huge amount of data from the EDR card.

Thanks - Unless I get extra QF FF points for using the Everyday Money Credit Card I'll stick to my Amex thanks :)

Earning 3 x SQ points for every $1 at the moment along with 1 x QF point

What do you mean "next". Woolies are already pushing everyday money cards on EDR card members. I've had about 6 offers since this CC started.

My purchases from Mon (22/6) posted some point mid-afternoon today (Fri 26/6), after posting to the Woolworths site on Wed.
So garee's comment re Friday posting to QFF appears correct.

26 JUN 09 WOOLWORTHS SUPERMARKETS 26JUN09 ---78

(and a lot quicker than the restaurants which all seemingly posted in bulk last Friday)

As have mine from Wednesday night:

Code:
24/06/09 Woolworths Supermarket CHERMSIDE CENTRAL 125.36 95
Code:
26 JUN 09 WOOLWORTHS SUPERMARKETS 26JUN09 - - - 95

Seems like all posted on Friday Night.

Something interesting I note on the everyday website this week:
Code:
                                       Eligible Points Bonus
                                        Basket Earned Points
                                         Value
30/06/09 QFF registration promotion 500 500
...

This is for both myself and my wife. I guess these will come across to our QFF accounts tomorrow.

I'll have to try and remember to logon when I get home and see if mine are the same

No registration promotion for me, but there is a massive 5 points listed for me :)

Nothing here yet, but I am a little surprised there was no boni points for signing up or anything extra.

I guess the free QF registration fee is the boni for those who are not already with QFF.
