500 bonus points? Anyone else get them?

A mate received 500 bonus points credited to their Everyday account. Me, I got nada. I contacted and asked the question and got this reply:

Dear Customer, Thank you for your enquiry. This was a personalised offer to registered Everyday Rewards card holders. For more information on the QANTAS Frequent Flyers and Everyday Rewards programs, please visit www.everyrewards.com.au

As I pointed out to them, both mate and self were already QFF members and registered for an Everyday Rewards card at the same time. Subsequently this makes their reply somewhat confusing to me unless what they are really saying is they randomly selected people to receive the bonus. Otherwise, as a registered Everyday rewards cardholder I should have got it too.

Anybody else get it? Didn't?

Still haven't received it either and assumed it must have been targeted. Trying to work out how it was targeted though could be very confusing, but if you weren't, tough I suppose.

My wife got a letter and was hence targetted and she got the points . I wasn't and I didn't. The difference between us was she wasn't set up to access account online.

I rang their service centre on Friday and was told that it was a targetted promotion. If you didn't get a letter, you won't get the 500 bonus points.

That's different to what they said originally, but to be expected I guess. Oh well, it's only 500 points.

My wife and I were both set up on line some time before we each received the letter and the subsequent 500 pts.

well that blows that theory out of the water.

While I did originally register (set up) the wife's card online (via the website), I didn't bother giving them her email address or creating a password for online access, which could be different to "set up on line" depending on interpretation. So I just assumed she was targetted because that would then require her to provide that extra information and enable an online account access arrangement.

iTunes vouchers are 20% off at Woolies in this week's catalogue. Not a bad deal if you want to get Tomtom for your iPhone or similar.

Is Tomtom available yet? I thought it was going to be an in store purchase, given that it will come with a charger and holder and all that stuff. Plus that it will probably be many hundreds of $, would take a few vouchers. ;)

Edit: Just checked the App store - it is available, awesome, Thanks!!! and only $99.

now to find out if it will accept the europe map I got from tom tom 2 years ago.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Tomtom Maps seem to be compiled into the app, rather than separate installs... If you want only a single country, e.g. Germany, then you'll have to change your account to that country before searching. Oddly enough NZ maps cost more than AU maps...

Because of the way the app store works, that's not currently possible. If you want to take that route, you'll have to purchase a stand-alone device.

I'd suggest taking TomTom discussion to the iPod/iPhone thread though, or a completely new thread.

Thanks will check out the other thread. But I'm slowly working through the Whirlpool thread on the topic as well.

BTW I already have a stand alone device, which is why I already own europe map, just was hoping that Tom Tom home might work with the iphone app, to load or the extras. Bit annoying to have to keep buying the map that is already owned - since that is the major cost with these things.

I have noticed that I am getting QFF points for cash out with my shopping. Great way to get points without shopping. Last Wednesday groceries cost $181 and $100 cash out and I got 251 points credited.:D

Very interesting to know, might give that a try when I am back. I normally don't keep cash on me, as eftpos suffices, but I might start if this comes through.

I've just spent $75 at Woolworths and got $500 cash out. I'll be interested to see what happens.
I have to admit it felt strange using my debit card and foregoing the FF points on my QF Amex.
The debit card is about six months old and I'm pretty sure that's the first time it has been swiped.

It should be interesting. I did believe wish cards and some other purchases were ineligible, but I'm still looking for cash-out exclusions.

I look forward to reading the result.

I think Woolworths are on a winner with this program, I used to shop at Coles but now I can't remember the last time I been to one.
