Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

So from Thursday to Sunday double Qantas FF points. Looks like I'll be having another big shop on batteries, toiletries, canned foods, dog food, cleaning products and other items that don't go out of date.

Well I will do a bigger than normal shop too.

But I will basically not buy anything extra unless it is on special.....or tat I would need it within a week or so.

This is only 1 extra QFF point worth to me 2 to 4 % off. Which is a lot less than the discount I would expect from just normal prudent shopping.

However the good thing about this Promo is it flags that there will be other future bonus points to be had. Bonii that were not available last year...and so that is good news.

I only just got the email (timestamp - 23:41).

Does that mean I'm right at the bottom of Wollie's list?

I'm doing it too. I sort of feel like one of the street characters who pick up discarded cigarette butts, the way of getting a paltry 20 points here and there.

Does anyone worry about the fact a big corporation knows exactly our shopping habits? Habits that may be later used to spam us with targeted e-mail?

It would be interesting to note the maximum number of previously earned QFF points for those who received the double points promotional email.
ie, if you have already earned 100 (or 500 or 1000) did you get the email?

I got it but notably have not earned a huge number of points. (3)

I received 2 emails. One for the double FF points and one for 11c/litre off fuel if I spend $75 in the meat dept. Both expire Sunday. Maybe they noted my non-use of the card since I am overseas. But returning Saturday so will be time to stock the freezer with meat on the weekend. Better send out the invites for a BBQ.

All very good points there, but I will be stocking up on specials at the same time

I was wondering that also. Currently I've only earned 29 points.

Not really. I've been registered for about a year now for just the fuel savings and they still send me promotions to get more off fuel by buying ~$75 of red meat or vegies, and they should know I hardly buy much of that. The few vegies I do buy are frozen... and I get my red meat from takeaways, not liking to cook much myself.

So they have all this information on me and still send me offers completely unrelated. I'm not worried.

I only did my first shop last weekend, but got ~100 points from it.

Earned well over 2000 points and received the email

I didn't think i'd get much value out of this offer, as we usually spend around $100 each trip to the local IGA, untill I went to Woolies with my wife last week.

Upon reaching the checkout I enquired about the promotion and was given a card. I was then told that I wouldn't be able to earn points it untill I had registered. Our shopping came to over $600

Are you really implying that Woolies is 6 times as expensive as IGA?

Are people still waiting to receive their QFF cards??

I signed up to QFF once the announement of the joint venture was made (1 June) and made a purchase to get points at Woolworths on 22 June (the 1st day). My points have been credited to my QFF account, but I'm still waiting for the card. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also:
1) Any thoughts on the possibility of earning points for petrol at Caltex/Woolworths?
2) Can points be earnt for 'recharge purchases' - e.g. Vodafone pre-pay, itunes, Optus pre-pay etc. - has anyone tested this?

john_kowolski,

Your also questions have been discussed several times in the last few pages. I have not paid much attention to the answers as they don't concern me.

I received points for my Telstra mobile broadband recharge.

My mums card arrived today, she hasn't even made any purchases yet. With it was a double points offer for her first international or domestic one-way flight with Qantas in the next few months.

Petrol points are supposedly coming, but I'm not sure exactly when. Just as Big W became eligible recently, Caltex/Woolworths outlets should become eligible too, soon.

Yes, recharge cards earn points. I've bought both a $30 Optus card to get myself over the line (and recharge) and a $50 voucher recently. Both have posted points. I'd assume iTunes would be the same, though haven't tried them as I now have a visa debit card.

I think they were implying that they've missed out on 570 potential points by having to register a new card after the transaction.

That was a shame, but the information was all available online, and had they really wanted the points, they could of quickly register at an internet hotspot before completing their purchase. For $600 worth of food, I would. With the double points it could have been even worse for them.

...and recharges themselves (at least in Vic), are themselves 20% off until Sunday.

I also got the email and I have received ~650 QFF points so far. Should be >1,000 QFF points after yesterday's shopping.

Now this does not have anything to do with Qantas but when I went to get petrol in Sydney last week there was no way for the person at Woolworths petrol to determine what fuel offers I had on the Everyday Rewards card. He said to me it was all automatic with the oldest fuel offer used first. What if I have higher fuel savings with recent purchases but still have lower fuel offers with older purchases that are not expired how do I access the new offers?
