Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

It only dawned on me to check my EDR details and I realised that the card number of the EDR card I have doesn't match the one on my profile! I have the wrong card!

That sucks! You'll have to work out which card is linked to your QFF and do a swap. Or if a card isn't linked, link it up.

I spend about $50 a week on groceries, but with promotions and occasionally going over budget have managed to net 1,003 points so far. :)

Any points earned during the week post on Friday evenings - like clockwork.

So if you are expecting points and they don't post by Saturday there may be an issue.

Also, you can check online for all transactions.

I have just discovered that my wife and I have some how swapped cards. It works for me because she uses the Wollies card the most and I get the points :!:

I've indelibly marked the front of the cards in this household. Sort of hard to mix them up that way, but still easy for my dad to lose his (or leave it in Hong Kong)!

In my household, we share the one card, so we haven't had the issue (and very rare that we would be shopping at the same time)

The card is already registered as well, so no hope of relinking it back to my QFF account.

Strangely enough, it seems to belong to a member of my family, as I tried using the "forgotten username" feature that asks for card number and last name, and it worked. Of course, it will not tell me which email address it has sent it to, so I still don't know whose it is. Worse yet, the EDR website tells me that whilst the EDR card is registered, it isn't linked to any QFF account. So a few points have just disappeared into thin air.

So much for trying. :(
Ring them! I had a similiar problem with my Wife's card. One call and all sorted. Did have to put on my wife to ID herself, but they talked to me about working out the email address and all that. NB their call center is great, get straight onto a person everytime and they seem to open extra hours, like weekend and at night.

im thinking of taking advantage of amex promotion for higher points ratio for a limited time, and buying say $1000 x 2 worth of woolworths gift voucher, our weekly spend is about $250 per week,

so how does it work, if I get a $1000 voucher, and spend only $50, do I get a $950 cash refund at the register or do I get a credit note for $950 (seems like a lot of hassle for the shop staff)

The 'voucher' which is really a card stores the value electronically, and works by deducting value from the electronic store. So it will initially be loaded with $1000, and after spending $50 it will have $950 still available on it.

What is the AMEX deal and where do I find it?

Thanks

Hmm. I'm confuseled.

Does this Amex deal have something to do with Woolworths / Everyday Rewards?

Last I heard, Woolworths was running a rival credit card under its own brand in collaboration with HSBC.

New promo comp just announced, 500 QFF points will be given away to one lucky person in every Woolworths/Safeway, every week from today until 20 December.

Your chance to WIN!

Make sure you scan your Everyday Rewards card next time you shop for your chance to WIN 500 Qantas Frequent Flyer points. There'll be one lucky winner in your store every week until 20th December. So get scanning today - it could be you!

How it works

  1. Shop at your local Woolworths or Safeway supermarket by Sunday 20th December*
  2. Present your registered Everyday Rewards card before you pay
  3. Instantly go in the draw to win 500 Qantas Frequent Flyer points
Promotion closes 20 December 2009
Promotion T&C's value the 500QFF points at a notion value of AUD20, putting the points value at 4c each. Total maximum prize pool is AUD64,200 which based on the 4c/point value equates to a rounded figure of 1.6 million points.

For extra mathematical fun, the promotion lasts for 4 weeks which would mean Woolworths/Safeway has in the vicinity of 800 stores.

That's with Mastercard, not AMEX

That's with Mastercard, not AMEX

Which is precisely my point (and the WW deal is with HSBC, not Mastercard. Mastercard merely provides the branding/payment system - not the financing/risk management. HSBC is the risk taker).

Where does this Amex deal fit into the QFF/Woolworths realm, given this is a QFF/Woolworths thread - or are there red herrings everywhere and we're way off topic?

QFF points worth 4c each? Tell them they're dreaming.

Using Mel/Syd as a yardstick (QF's busiest route), a discount economy internet-booked QF fare is worth about $100 including taxes. Using QFF, the same route will cost 11,000 miles including taxes.

So for the Woolworths 'mum & dad' shopper, a Qantas mile is worth about 0.9 cents - let's be generous and call that 1c - NOT 4c!

So this 500 QFF miles giveaway will cost each supermarket about $5/week. Less than the shrinkage on a couple of 2 litre cartons of milk each week!

WW is exposed to peanuts over this one. Pretty cynical really. Glad I'm a WW shareholder and I'm looking forward to increased turnover courtesy of the ER punters during the promotional period. Methinks the share price will go up by at least a few cents and the value of my WW shareholding will rise by far more than 4 weeks x $5 = $20 over the promotional period.

Woolworths ER Double Points Promotion

Literally 5 minutes ago I received an email offer that is far more like points in the bank rather than the very low-probability-of-success 500 points offer.

It's double points on my next visit to Woolworths. That's on an ER card that my son has not used for about a month and is a "welcome back" incentive.

From the email:

We miss you. We're writing because we've not seen you for a while, and you are a valued customer. To welcome you back, here's an offer for you to use this week when you shop at Woolworths.

Bye for now,
Deborah

How it works

You are pretty close. My local Woolies, St Georges Tce, opened about 4 months ago. For the first few days there was a banner at the front of the store saying 'Congratulations on Store Number 800'

Sopoor mentioned an AMEX promotion which I assume has no connection to ER.

SIA1A,

There are quite a few ways to get around 4c per point or better. The example you use is probably the worst value available. Look at International upgrades for the real points value or an around the world in business class. ;)

Although a QFF award RTW in J comes out at close to 4 cents value when comparing to a DONE4 it is still comparing apples and oranges. On the award your stopovers are more limited than on a DONE.It is also quite hard to get the J cabin on all sectors so personally i value my QFF points at less than 4 cents.

Re: Woolworths ER Double Points Promotion

Got this too. Didn't use my everyday rewards card as I away in Germany for three weekends. Odd thing is that I've used it the last three weekends (7th, 14th, 21st), so I guess their database lags a little. Should come in handy, especially as Huggies nappies are on special this week.
