Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

I got the medhead one too. You know, there's the 15c fuel discount on the Lynx/Rexona products... I think that might be the way to go. Everyone needs shower gel and deodorant! ;)

Interesting that everyone is getting the same email as medhead and no reports as yet of any more like mine.
I'm feeling rather "special"

Wouldn't be surprised if they started grouping us into the same offers as we talk so much :p

Woolworths link spurs flight to Qantas

SHOPPERS are switching loyalty from other carriers to Qantas as a result of the alliance with Woolworths, which has delivered 700,000 new members to the airline's frequent flyer program in less than six months.

Chief executive of Qantas loyalty program Simon Hickey said 200,000 ''sectors'' - legs of a journey - had been flown by Woolies shoppers who had signed up for the Everyday Rewards card and linked it to the frequent flyer scheme.

It's more so that those people were already flying QF probably, but just didn't credit to an account as they saw no value in spending the $ to set one up.

Agreed, but QF would be licking its lips and rubbing its hands at the sheer volume of cash that woolies would now be paying them for points. I sincerely hope this leads to no more 'enhancements' of the program

Or existing QF FFers who have linked a card. Our family have taken 8 doemstic segemts since the whole woolies QFF thing started and we linked our cards. Don't mention that we already had the points used for those segments

I've just been invited to participate by QFF in a survey related to Woolworths Everyday Rewards. All of the usual questions about demographic, spending patterns etc, etc, One interesting question though, about earning 4 QFF points per litre of fuel purchased at Woolies fuel outlets. One to look out for in the future?

That doesn't sound right - 1 point per dollar elsewhere, or 4 points per $1.20 at a fuel outlet? Given the high threshold they also have ($30-50) before any points I wouldn't envisaging them more than doubling the return at a new outlet, for something that already has the voucher encouragement/incentive.

Maybe the 4 QFF points per litre will replace the 4c per litre discount.

I suspect that's what they're thinking. One of the questions was " Given a choice, would you prefer 4c discount or 4 points per litre?"

Pretty much same-same really. I said I'd opt for the points.

I save just over a dollar every time I fill up. Making ~100 points instead sounds reasonable. Seems a little generous though!

Don't suppose it gave you the option to ditch the fuel discount and earn points on every dollar spent at safeway/woolies? I never use the fuel vouchers (have several dozen of them that just expire) and would much prefer a point for every dollar spent there :)

No, but there was a couple of questions about the $30/$50 threshhold, what I thought of it and if it had changed my shopping habits etc.

I wouldn't be getting too excited just yet. It was just a survey tossing a few ideas around, but it does show that the Everyday Rewards program is still very much a work in progress.
