Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Funny thing is I'm short of 1 SC from platinum with my membership restarting in June, and the lady said if I still don't receive the green tier reward close to end of this month, I can call them back and they move me to platinum without having to fly? Sounds like something nice for them to offer but has this ever happened to anyone? Just a bit skeptical.
There’s another recent thread where someone called up and was comped SG even though 10 SCs short. I reckon 1 SC is a “gimme”?

Seems a nice gesture from Qantas - for once. Yes hoping to save that 50 SC for the new year if they end up getting me across to platinum that is.

Mrs ChrisMars completed the green challenge for the very first time a few days ago, and today the reward is available. That was quick. Will wait the next membership year to pick the 50 SC.

I’m sitting on one leaf to go. I can fire it off pretty much anytime now to take 50 SCs in August. I was a bit miffed that the general 20% off Marketplace offer excluded the Green tier stuff…😔

So - I was at the Green Tier event in Healesville a couple of weeks ago. I spoke to one of the guys from Qantas for a good while, asking him about the whole tier. One thing that I will repeat here, however, is that the issue where you re-achieve your 5 leaves for the year, but you're not presented with you choice of reward - this will be fixed in the next few weeks, so you no longer have to call the call centre.
Apologies if this has been posted already - I haven't ready through the many pages of this thread.

Like so much with QF of late, it's a fail and it's the PR talk to get things back on track. Will at least they think so.

5 leaf target hit, instantly give the offer of reward, how hard is that, trainee IT as per usual.

My membership rolls over at the end of May and I have just completed my fifth green leave but it’s not reset the end date of my Green Tier yet and no option to select the reward.

I’m guessing if it doesn’t right itself I’ll have to call up.

I have the same FF year end with the same issue, the last time I spoke to the customer rep they said I had to wait 21 days I think into my new FF year to do it? I'm not sure she understood what I was saying, I also emailed QFF and have not heard a reply back either.

I recently achieved the green tier for the 2nd year running, roughly 2 months ago. I have not been offered the choice of a bonus yet. Has anyone else experienced this?

Choose a bonus reward

Choose between 10,000 Qantas Points, 50 Status Credits or for Qantas to offset an additional 3 tonnes of carbon on your behalf.++
++ Qantas Frequent Flyers who have achieved Green Tier status are eligible to earn their choice of one (1) of three (3) available rewards. The option to select a reward will appear in My Account 21 days after the member has achieved Green Tier. The choice of 10,000 Qantas Points or 50 Status Credits or three tonnes of Carbon offset must be made within 90 days of achieving Green Tier status. Limit of one reward per individual per Membership Year. Once the application is complete there is no change of mind on the chosen reward. If no reward is chosen within the specified timeframe the reward will be forfeited.
Qantas Points: 10,000 Qantas Points will be credited to your account within three days of your completed application for a reward.
Status Credits: 50 Status Credits will be credited to your account within three days of your completed application for a reward. Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer will not contribute towards any Loyalty Bonuses, or any Platinum or Platinum One Bonus Rewards. Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions.
Qantas to purchase additional carbon offsets or sustainable aviation fuel on your behalf: Qantas will offset three tonnes of carbon on behalf of the Qantas Frequent Flyer member if this reward is selected. Carbon offset cannot be redeemed for cash, and is non-refundable. The carbon offset will be reflected in your activity statement within one day of your completed application for this reward. This reward is only available for Australian residents only and does not consider any other country, conditions or carbon offsetting criteria

Was it more than 21 days ago?
I personally had to call a few time to get the choice.

OK, I just got off the line with the Frequent Flyer team. I was informed that there is a change to the terms and conditions on the website (as I posted above) for 2nd and subsequent-year green tier members.

It seems that if you successfully get the green tier a 2nd or subsequent time, you need to wait until THE END OF THE NEW MEMBERSHIP YEAR before you can get your bonus.

What a rort!!! I was counting on these status credits to retain gold status.

@Mattg this could be an interesting topic to get Qantas' response to for publication. How can they see this is fair when its undocumented, and contradicts their terms and conditions for green tier?

That s annoying.
The t&c s still mention 21 days. Wondering if you can try your luck with few huaca to see if you get a different answer.

I feel like this is (yet another) case of the call center making something up when they don't know the real answer
Since this new end of year bonus choice was never actually in the T&C's, it's quite an amazing idea from the call centre operator.

Another QF enhancement.

Not sure if this is a new clause or not, but T+C's currently says, "Limit of one reward per individual per Membership Year". So if you got one earlier in the membership year (from a previous year earn), it appears, you cannot get is again. Is this a new clause that has been added?

Pretty sure this was an existing clause, which intent is to say you can only earn the green tier once a year, independently of when you reedeem within the 90 days.

If the call center is right, this means someone could earn and reedeem in year one, earn in year two but forced to reedeem in year three. Not ideal for the purpose of SC.
They switched this model for the wine and hotel vouchers of points club, which I think is fine, but doesnt feel correct for SC where one would expect to have the capacty to pick SC in the year they earn the green tier.
