That is pathetic for that flight time. You should have got a proper meal like you do for AU to NZ flights

Seems like a catering problem. It should be a hot meal.

I suspect so too.

QF flights to most of the Pacific Islands are double catered from Australia. They can't offer things like chicken salads in the to Australia direction on the 737s because there is no cold storage for food.

Something went wrong with the catering.
 
That was catered to spec.

The flight is double catered but as the 737s don't have chilled compartments and due to the length of the outbound flight, nothing perishable can be loaded for the return.

There are "shelf stable" catering products available that at least could pass for a meal.

I guess such are "too expensive" for Qantas to provide on a fare inclusive basis.

This is what cabin crew told me when I asked.

I've heard ROR-BNE, a 6-hour day flight, is the same. Qantas must not have a caterer at TBU or ROR, I guess?
No caterer in TBU.
