re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

There are two groups of points, 1) Aquire points and 2) Pending (aquire) points. If they are aquire points you can transfer them. You need to get 20000 pending points, and activity from 2 employees, before the pending points become aquire points.

Thanks medhead. I think this will just be a one time 5000 point grab for me. Looking at the earn rate for aquire points, I would never hit 20,000.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Amaroo and medhead have indicated that this is the position and on the basis of their opinion I registered and received said 5,000 points. The points have arrived in my account and whilst I have not tried the transfer yet it would appear they are available for transfer subject to clause 12.3.
From the Aquire Loyalty Program T&Cs;
"12.3 A Member must request in each conversion transaction the conversion of a minimum 3000 (three thousand) Aquire Points or such other minimum amount as Aquire Loyalty may stipulate from time to time."
You will need to transfer a minimum 3,000pts and yes the 5,000 sign on bonus are available to transfer immediately. Be careful if you intend to continue to earn points as you will need a minimum 20,000 point account balance for future transfers...but not this first one.

Cheers prozac, appreciate the T&Cs reference. I'll sign up and snag my 5000.

That is my position as well. Also apart from wife and myself I would not be able to satisfy the 2 employee requirement.

That would be 2 employees. I've qualified between myself and one other flying. The annual fee certainly kills any value in Aquire.

Agree re annual fee have earned well over the 20000 and will continue to accumulate and transfer at last minute need a couple more points to try and get 2 x F MEL-LHR awards

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Good grief. Just caught up here.

Does anyone who runs a (small) business have the time for all this rigmarole? As a contractor, I reckon could bill productive time for the time otherwise spent trying to sort out Aquire and be well ahead.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Pretty easy and stress free experience for me :D Points hitting the Aquire account promptly and show up instantly on my QFF account once transferred. I suspect we may well earn enough points to justify the annual fee, just working through the maths now.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Its working OK for me as well...with flights and Westpac credit cards we have 170,000 aquire points already and no rigmarole just book the flights with our ABN (did that before for our business direct) and add in FF number for staff.

Did the westpac card points trigger the pending points requirement? Also how hard was it to get the card? I started the application process and they didn't seem to be a request for financial details.

Did the points from Westpac credit cards count toward the required 20,000 points to make pending points real aquire points?

It is really not hard - once you have registered all you need to do is ensure the ABN is in the booking for anyone who flies. We don't bother with any of the extras just flights and it all just happens.....We are already sitting on over 100,000 points which is not bad return - I will review next year after we have to pay a membership, but will probably still be worth it for one more year.

I agree that nothing has been hard for me either, add the QFF numbers and ABN then points post like clockwork on the 5th day after the flight is taken.

The hardest thing was talking my staff into joining up to QFF so their flights would earn *me* Aquire points but I found a link on Ausbt to save the joining fee and they didn't mind becoming members.

What is the connection between WestPac CC and aquire points? It doesn't seem to work for me.

In terms of hassles with aquire. I've had one where the outbound flight didn't credit to the QFF account until 2 weeks later, at the same time as the return leg. The return flight credited to aquire automatically, but I had to do a missing point claim for the outbound flight.

There is a westpac aquire business card.

It took a while to change to the correct westpac cards...so had the required 20,000 before they started. I dod notice however, that my hire cars went straight to the available points whilst my flights were still in the pending list. So guess the 20,000 is all flying, but other points are available??

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

How long does it take for the bonus 5000 points to post?

Also, I'm assuming I don't have to actually do anything to get the 5000 apart from sign up?

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Settle back, relax, I think mine took around 5-7 days.
