Qantas Platinum One experiences?

The chances of me making any such event are slim. But just the concept that there can be something like a "P1 coughtail night" and I had NEVER even heard of similar, that is not really doing it for me...

Some P1s are more equal than others. Nothing new here.

That said as a Canberran I was invited in May to the Sydney coughtail event back in June. Couldn't attend. I'm definitely not a top tier P1 but probably was on the radar as I had been in discussion with the (very lovely) members of the team who look after invitations in the weeks beforehand.

But complete silence since then.

No invites for me on the other side of the ditch either, although before P1 existed when I had the equivalent non-published status I did get to fly QF's A380 in F for a joyride before it entered commercial service. My TA at the time was very jealous since they only managed to get a business seat.

No invites here either. Coincidentally, I actually passed through Melbourne that evening. Obviously the dedicated team, monitoring individual travel, missed me battling to find a seat in the Melbourne lounge that night.

I was invited to see Taylor Swift last month ... when I was overseas. I get quite a few invites, and I do appreciate the thought, but they are rarely for when I'm at home.

I've never received a P1 upgrade, though, only the occasional downgrade.

Anyone caught up in the Sydney airport delays and how was it handled as a P1?

I’m stuck in brisvegas trying to get back to Sydney on QF543. Currently showing a 4hr 20 delay. I called the SST at 1pm to see if they could get me on an earlier flight. No joy, their only advice was go to the airport and try. They will have been having a pretty coughpy day I would expect

Priority given to CLs but in any event almost impossible to help many people if planes simply can't land.
How was the lounge (assuming you weren't allowed into the CL)?

One of those days. When I called the earlier flights were reportly oversold by 5 -7 pax so there will be little joy for anyone I expect. Pretty much all flights after mine have been canceled and mine is showing a 10.30pm arrival so any further delays will get us up against the curfew.

The J lounge isn’t as much of a zoo as I would have expected. I guess the early canceling of flights has avoided too much overcrowding. I reached my taco limit early and i’ve Run out of newspapers and magazines with 2hrs left to run

My bride is not talking to me. We had a charity dinner tonight which was to be her first outing after 5 weeks recovering from spinal surgery. I’m officially banned from travelling in the future on days where we have a date night

Looks like the Qantas P1 Christmas gifts are being sent out now. And no longer using sendle too by the looks of it. Got a notification from the auspost app saying a delivery from Qantas is on its way.

I also have not yet received any notification but I am sure it will arrive. We only opened last years Comtes last weekend so time to re-stock if that is what it is.

I didn't receive any notification but I logged in to Australia Post "my post" where it appeared.
