Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Hey P1's have any of you had your upgrades confirmed 7 days out? As a WP I used to always get them at T-24 just wondering what the new norm is?

I've got a T(Y+) to J request in for QF107 on the 17th (plenty of seats avail J9) I would have thought it was a bit of a no brainer, but no dice as yet.

All mine have been confirmed seven days out, although I'm sure Markis10 will be able to correct that for me. :p

SST said it could happen anytime in the next few days but she said she will keep an eye on it. Meh.

Good to see that they are going that extra mile for their most valued customers.... You are in exactly the same place as if the P1 apologies and excuses team did not even exist.

Awaiting your positive report then ;)

Should we start a book??

Ironically by the time they get to it, the return flight will be well within the 7 day mark as well!!

Start a book, here is my bet: I'm thinking that they will come through at T-48 and all the good seats will be taken, and ill get the centre seat in the middle row of 3 downstairs.

Don't despair, I often see good seats freed up by pax upgraded from J to F.

We recently had a great experience with Qantas. On the way from Melbourne to LHR, partner and I were both booked business class on Q via Dubai. That was great in itself. But, boarding from the First Class Lounge in in Dubai I was upgraded to F. Partner was not so happy with that but I took it. I had to agree that if by some rare chance I got upgraded on the way back after Christmas I would let partner have the upgrade!

So, on the way back we were both in Business LHR to DXB but we reboarded separately in DXB as I was looking around. When I went to board (partner had already boarded) I got upgraded again to MEL fully realising that I would have to give that up. I went to seat 5A just to see what I was missing and whoaaaaa there is partner sitting in the middle seat.... so WE HAD BOTH GOT UPGRADED!!!!!.

Thanks so much Qantas. Partner has now at last travelled First Class once so I am off the hook so to speak.

That's how good being P1 has been for me!!!!

Congrats .. well done. I wish I had similar experiences to share.. For me overall the P1 experience has been very good for Event invites (2 in past 12 months), Flight Sim. But on upgrade front, very underwhelming. It is not a whinge.. I am always prepared to travel in the class that I have booked/paid for. But everybody loves surpirses! so do I

Yes, well those who book and pay for the seats earlier should get first choice! No one's forcing you to take an upgrade.

Thanks smarty11. I'm not too fussed on the Invitations to Events so it works for me.
