Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Thats great news. But surely it shouldnt be this hard to get an upgrade confirmed earlier for a WP1 member.

Other have had them at confirmed at 7 days, but i guess thats the luck of the draw.

Enjoy your flight!

The cynical person in me suggests it prevents access to the extras that require 24 hours notice

Limo mainly, eat on Q being on offer for PE

LOL given how they treat a paying customer with their pathetic half coughd effort they put into the limo offer - I think you're correct!

I know this thread is only young but from the posts so far it would appear the Platinum One experience to be totally underwhelming.

Releasing a couple of award seats and being able to pre-select row 4-5 or row 23-24. If you do 3600 SCs a year there won't be many times you cannot get the first 2 rows and how often would you need award availability opened up?

It is Bloody underwhelming in my opinion I can't even book a complimentary chauffeur service today! Though I understand it is not a P1 benefit per se but illustrates my point. I wrote to P1 and they are investigating it for me.

Yes yes this is my experience

Tried to organise eat on Q via website I am going in circles from my booking page to info page and back again. No eat on Q so so useless just like spotless food is tasteless.

I agree.. the "investigations" that the P1 team does will result in just corporate BS as the official response and nothing more, in my experience.

while I didn't achieve 3600SC just so that I can reach P1 status (had to travel that much unfortunately L) but my issue with QF is why go to such lengths of creating a new program, saying all these nice things thereby creating an expectation but then so under-deliver!

It started off as a good idea with a couple good things happening.. but lately I have felt no better than SG let alone WP. This is based on my personal experience over 70+ flights in last 12 months.

Went past 3,600 SCs today... looking forward to a little something extra.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

Just don't have high expectations and certainly don't hold your breath for that "little something extra".. and you will be fine. :)

Congrats!

The little something extra used to be 2 additional words written in red colour on a WP card. Now it's a brand new white card.
That's about it, enjoy!

Wanted to report back on my first 3 mainline flights since becoming P1. Over the last weekend I flew BNE-ADL-MEL-BNE. On all 3 sectors I received a really personalised greeting where a number of things were discussed. I have a flight log book I get signed so was invited into the coughpit after arrival twice, though I'm sure that wasn't anything to do with P1, yet had the FO come chat to me during a flight about air shows. On one flight I was given an onboard upgrade as we were taxiing from the gate. Of my last flight hadn't been full I'd have had blocked seats next to me for all as well.

I think P1 played a big role in the greetings and I know it did for the upgrade as it was at the CSM's discretion and he told me they do try to look after their P1's when they can.

I'm impressed.

I certainly don't mean to gloat, but make that 2 upgrades from 4 flights now. Boarding pass had a special comment on it, "enjoy your flight, mr Heathfield" and they upgraded me at the gate because there was a 'remark' to do so.

Congratulations.. well done..

You can gloat because from my personal experience and reading comments from many on this thread and AFF in general, this is rare. So enjoy and I hope that this trend continues for you.
