Qantas Platinum One experiences?

So apparently signing members up for Epiqure isn't automatic? :p

Made a purchase a couple days ago, but found it odd I was only getting 1 point per $, not 3 points per $. After much talk on the phone it turns out I'm not a member, and that is why... which is funny because I thought complimentary membership was a benefit  576 points that have vanished.

There is a difference between complimentary membership and automatic sign up. Whilst complimentary membership of Epiqure is a P1 benefit you still have to put the electronic signature through the process.

Basically you had an offer you didn't accept, therefore you don't get the benefits until you do accept.

Hmmmm, so i don't drink wine, but thought I better log in & see if I'm a member, no I wasn't, i joined up on the 16th Nov 2011 & got my comp gift the first year of P1 & just assumed the membership would continue on without needing to do anything. So i have joined up again!

Pretty silly really as I hadn't dropped from WP1 status at all since I joined back in 2011.

Indeed. Didn't mean to seem so DYKWIA :p

However I can't recall being told I needed to do something to get the membership, and the fact I was able to make a purchase lead me to believe I was a member.

Like you perhaps, I did not receive an email saying my membership had lapsed, which I think is pretty poor form, as I would have done something to it sooner had I realised, and thus not missed out on points earning opportunities.

Experienced a 2+ hour delay due to weather disruptions in PER last week (which had a knock on effect for other flights) . No contact from the QF P1 team was received about rescheduling onto other flights which left after my original departure time but before my delayed flight actually departed.

A request for a response from the QF P1 team to find out what happened and why I was not rescheduled (on a flexible ticket) was ignored. A second request a week later found that no one had told them what was going on and it is best if I call them in future.

I thought that one of the benefits of P1 was that they monitored your travel in order to assist when things go wrong? Pretty poor response.

I have only a few weeks left as P1 and have to say have been completely underwhelmed by the experience which has consisted of

1 Invite to Flight SIm and NO other events

2 Asked about F1 to be told no one was invited this year only to find out later that others had indeed been invited !!!!!

3 2 Upgrades domestically and 2 upgrades International

4 Poor responses to questions.

5 Complete stuff up in Dubai when things went wrong I had to call them all the time to find out what was happening.

As I say over all a dissapointing year that has NOT lived up to the Hype.

On the positive side to balance this was

1 Flight Sim in Sydney

2 Upgrades Domestic

3 Upgrades International

Have you favoured QFF with an "Exit interview"? Would be interested in the response. :)

That was my opinion as well. I received free membership to QF golf however........

Does your membership last the length of your P1 membership, or a year from when you accepted the freebie? The terms indicate the former, but my account indicated the latter :p

Just wanted to put a shoutout here to any members who have received an invite to the PGA Championships at RACV Royal Pines for next weekend. I live at Royal Pines and am happy to meet up with any members for a drink before/after/during, regardless of if tickets are offered or not.

Yes I had to call them but this is what happened to me on Tuesday QF 862 which in turn makes 863 ex OOL never arrived fuel imbalance. I was connecting onwards to ADL from SYD. Currently in a cab heading to BNE for a direct flight to ADL and will only be 55 late than the original arrival time via SYD. Who knows what time I would have arrived if I stayed at OOL. Thanks P1

Just like to share a positive story thanks to the latest P1 changes.

The Galleries first lounge at JFK, we are travelling as 2 adults plus the twins who are nearly 7.
she looks at my boarding pass and says, sorry you can only guest one.
I replied with please look at all our boarding passes, as mrs reload is now emerald too.

She was not happy at all.

She suggested we would be way more comfortable in the other lounge.

I told her I'd take her advice on board and went in the first lounge, my kids are sound asleep and making less noise than 99% of the other guests.

I've always disliked BAs dragons a lot, but thanks to QFs new P1 perks I'm able to take my family along with me. Thank you QF, as a dad who hardly travels with his tribe it makes it much more pleasant.

And for the record this match ended;
BA lounge dragon 0 - Reload family 4
the overall score is;
BA lounge dragons 49 - Reload family 8

I've had the "You would be way more comfortable in the J Lounge" treatment as well at JFK.
I replied that myself and the girls would check out F anyway just to see if we liked it :)
