Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I dropped from P1 to WP on 1 October this year. But I emailed the P1 team for assistance a week ago as a promise / confirmation had been made by the team earlier in the year and it didn't eventuate, so I emailed for help. I was very pleased to receive an almost instant reply and an indication that my problem had been passed on to relevant area and would be addressed. Took a few days but all is now good. So my final interaction with P1 for now is at least positive, after a very underwhelming year, and I am grateful for that. (Will be P1 again next year I think - well over halfway there after 3 months.

Not going to read this thread when I get there as the inconsistency only serves to disappoint. Am intrigued at the gifts this year. Got nothing last year and wouldn't expect anything this time given expiry, but note that some have said they have dropped status yet still received a gift. Oh well.

Well blow me down. All this talk and this morning I just had a lovely call from the P1 team offering me 2 tickets to day 2 or 3 of the Boxing Day text match. I took day 3 as I'm in that AusBT comp for an unlikely ticket on the final 767 flight (I know, dream on!) but either BB is watching or lucky co-incidence. Thank you P1 team. That's lovely.

I received nothing last year and received the same thing again this year. Apart from the iPad cover and my P1 renewal card, I have not received anything else from QF. No invites to anything in 2014 either. Postage and phone calls across the Nullarbor must be too expensive.

This evening a delivery man arrived at my door with the afore mentioned box of books. Very happily received - not read any of them, and they will join the backlog saved for the Christmas/New Year break. Thank you, QF

Well as I spoke to Red Roo yesterday whilst at MEL J Lounge, I can confirm that statement is true. Would you be watching the comments of your best clients on a web forum? They obviously think it's worth it...

You weren't on yesterday's flight ex-MEL, delayed on the tarmac because they had run out of printer paper, were you? :)
And that was only the first of the unlikely chain of compounding delays. :)

Whilst I think that's a good thing for AFF members, what happens to all the P1's who aren't members or who prefer not to openly post their wishes on here?

Plenty of other avenues.

We have several dedicated service channels available to all customers, included many social media platforms.

My activity on AFF is not to replace any of them, however I'm happy to assist by way of support wherever possible.

By the looks of the "How far did you fly in 2014" thread, the P1 team would be speaking to some customers on a daily basis!

I'm hoping my post there will remind QF how much they don't let me fly with them when I want to. 4,835 SCs this year. When there's a Business-friendly route with both carriers (QF, VA), I choose QF. This year's SC split: QF 2575, VA 2,260.

After all the talk of receiving gifts from P1 this year I figured "when in Rome" and stopped by the SST offices to offer my thanks in person.

I wish I could stay P1 and have the team continue to watch over my shoulder.

I do think it's great that QF, like some other loyalty/provider (I'm including hotels here) have a "face" on various social media outlets, here, FlyerTalk and so on. I don't just mean someone to PM with a question or ty get help, but to get the "mood of the meeting" as it were on various issues.

Certainly we (as members of this forum) can't feel like we're being ignored.. maybe specific concerns perhaps, but I for one am glad that folks are out there reading and taking note. I just hope I haven't gone into Saint Roo's naughty list!!! I'm usually pretty nice... :)

No, that wasn't my flight. Whilst mine was delayed (QF620) it was due to delays in getting a special needs pax settled in their 4C seat. Nobody seemed to mind

I have no idea what happens to them - presumably some may be more demanding or have a sense of entitlement, but I'll never know as they have direct contact with the P1 team and don't share their experiences on this (or other) fora
