Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
A couple of questions:
1. I will drive to airport with rental, which terminal is closer to the training centre, Dom or Int?
2. Any recommendations on a specific airport which is more interesting to land in?
Cheers
Edit: forgot to mention I'll do it in SYD.

Domestic is closer. If you are going to drive to the Airport and drop your rental off before the Sim experience, then you need to walk around to the entrance. When I did the Sim experience, it was here:

However the other P1 was able to park in the car park in that area, they just had to provide the Car Rego prior to arrival for security.

The B747 flight simulator last week was good fun. We flew to different airports around the world in all kinds of interesting weather conditions.
Even tried to recreate the famous landing on the Hudson River (which I failed miserably:p).
Special thank you to Ashley from Qantas Loyalty who organised the event and to the P1 team for the invite.

Such a great office, I am guessing it was Capt Stuart Lauden who did the sim session with you?

I am between 5-6 hrs in there to date (last 6 months) and have 2 more double sessions booked before the end of the year too

I'm going to sound silly here... But, I assume there's some kind of P1 benefit which allows for Sim time?

I believe P1's can get a shared session with other people, I am about to hit my 2nd year as P1 and haven't asked to do it yet, I have just bought them through the Qantas store, also did a session in the classic 20 years ago that was bought at a charity auction.

Was met off the plane in SIN today, for no apparent reason, really nice lady walked me through immigration and to the exit point.

Not sure why as I didn't need or ask for assistance, but it was nice, I'm guessing being a Saturday there was nobody of significance on board so they picked me.

Anyway, happy days.

connecting flight. Used to be a double surprise. 1 is better than none :)

Ok, I feel better now :)
Most of my connecting flights are Dom-Int in J but I have plenty of Dom day trips in Y and never been upgraded twice in one day.

My experience has been similar.. About 2 Plat One Team Instigated Upgrade in Dom J per year.

I think this special service to WP1 is only for Dom leg. I haven't been Upgraded to Intl J in such a way. Have had a few Y - J upgrade but believe they have been Op-Up, as those flights were full in Y (or Y+ depending on aircraft type)

The special P1 Y to J upgrades do happen internationally. I last had one AKL-MEL on a very lightly loaded flight. Always a nice surprise...

My last QF international flight (oct 2014) I had a points upgrade to J from whY come through at 7 days, then a J to F Op-Up about 2 hrs before boarding! for 2 pax.

I don't go on many international flights, but when I do i'm a very happy camper.
