Qantas Points Club Discussion

Have any existing Points Club members who have again reached the 150,000 qualifying threshold received their complimentary lounge passes? If so when did you receive them, after you reached the threshold again or after your anniversary? I found the details on the Qantas site quite ambiguous.

When I hit the threshold before my previous anniversary I received them promptly but 2 months have passed since reaching the threshold this membership year and nothing has come through.
I'm in the same boat and wondering the same. I re-qualified about a month ago and still waiting

I assume it will be a bit like maintaining PS status. You get the pass when the anniversary rolls over, not when you requalify.
Somewhere I thought I saw that the passes would show in your invitations approx 2 weeks from qualifying (ie hit the 150000 points mark)

I received mine shortly after my anniversary date. Most actions are done on the anniversary date, except when you achieve next status level.

Received my $100 hotel voucher for reaching points plus, but had to call to get it.
Has anyone received email congratulating you on reaching points plus?

Has anyone not requalified for points club plus, and observed if there's a soft landing?

I didn’t requalify for PC Plus, but I did have enough points for Points Club. Somehow I don’t think there will be soft landings here. Just spend your money, or not.
Have been sitting out my amex waiting period - I think the game will be to earn points club in year 1, enjoy it for the rest of year 1 and year 2, and then try to requalify in year 3 for years 3 and 4.
I would expect no soft landing too, but just interested.

This is definitely my intent going forward. I would churn cards anyway for points, so its just a timing thing now.

I cannot see why you would chase the points club or points club +. If you have BA gold (OWE) and QF gold (OWS) I would be ditching QF SG and start accruing miles/ points to another program. The non transferable QF SG is of no benefit, if it was I would have already given it away on this site as a ‘free stuff’ post.
Yes. I think you're right. I'm also lifetime UA Plat (Star Gold), so I'll probably keep accruing with BA to maintain Gold there.

The current AMEX “Shop Small” (3x bonus points) is doing wonders for my PC requalify after a week in the SA vines. Pretty much every winery that takes AMEX is on shop small.

Makes a change from relying on QF Wines! 🤣

I wondered about this as I'm again approaching Points+ and on looking at the T&Cs;

^^ Points Club members will receive a $50 Qantas Hotels voucher and Points Club Plus members will receive a $100 Qantas Hotels voucher for each Membership Year they attain Points Club. Vouchers will be sent within 21 days of attaining Points Club. You must have a valid email address and be opted in to receive 'Exclusive offers for Qantas Frequent Flyer Members' email marketing to receive the voucher. If the email address is shared across multiple accounts, all accounts linked to the email must be opted in to receive 'Exclusive offers for Qantas Frequent Flyer Members' email marketing to receive the voucher.

My email is across some of my kids accounts and they weren't opted in, so I wonder whether I missed the original $50 voucher.

Points Club Plus allows for the rollover of up to 100 SCs. Is it safe to assume that this is over an above the one-time status support rollover Qantas is providing at the moment. So, for example, a Platinum could rollover (up to) 500+100?

My understanding of the rules is the 100SC roll counts for all levels other than P1, which is pretty much the norm other than DSCs.

May I confirm please that SYD-PER via (a) ASP, (b) MEL and (c) ADL earns progressively fewer SCs on award flights (i.e. ASP earns the most, MEL the mid and ADL the least)?

I can confirm the maths as it relates to QF published earn rates.

Haven’t flown those combos, but your assumptions are correct in theory.

Looks like a QANTAS points sale exclusive to points club members. Shame that the discounts are only on points plus pay flights and not classic rewards. To be honest, given that it's end of financial year time I surprised that this kind of sale is only for points club.

Did anyone else receive this? Are you likely to use it?

It is open to all. PC members may have got the email first. I am very unlikely to use it.

Hi SydneySwan,
Due to popular demand, we’ve brought the Big Points Sale back and this time it’s even bigger than before!

For 4-days only, take 20% off the points needed for flights, Qantas Hotel stays, Luxury Escapes and Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions when you use Points Plus Pay. Plus, shop great discounts at the Rewards Store or save on Avis car rental.

Don’t miss out, ends midnight Monday 21 June 2021. Exclusions apply.*
